Jesus, I wish I hadn't read this thread, now feeling very ancient. Only sanity is OldSkoolRS is (slightly) older than me wink

My oldest car is 11 years younger than me, my oldest bike just one year younger.
Haha, glad I made someoone feel better. FWIW I don't feel like I'm in mid life, but I guess the clue was buying a convertible earlier this year (which is 2001 so a good 36 years younger than me). The upside being that my insurance was only £280 fully comp for a 3 litre...

Born in 91, currently a few months shy of my 91 Golf GTI. Had an '90 Eunos before.

Thinking about it, I've never had a car older than me although I did come close with a February 1967 Volvo 1800S when I was born in '66.

My '72 Alfa (and '66 Vespa scooter) are both older than me. The Vespa was my only transport for a couple of years, and the Alfa was my only car for a few years after that but both are now secondary transport.

At 17 my first car was a polo, 1984, same as me.
Had a Honda CX500, 1983. I'd have been 21 then.
One of the boats is 1984, the other 1971.
Lotus is 1986, so nearly.

You did thanks biggrin

I got my mid-life crisis out the way early, my first car was a ragtop. Seemed quite civilised after several years of motorbikes.

Reading this thread I must ask, So how many PHers have got MGs ??
I cannot quite get into this, my first car was a 1966 Singer Gazelle series 6, I was born in 1961.
There again though what interesting cars are there out there built before 1961, that can be affordable today ?? Not museum material!
Go on what have I missed ??

Not that it would my choice, but you get an MGA that is older than you, though no idea what the prices are these days. At least you wouldn't have to get it MOT'd though. smile

EDIT: It would have to be a 1959 model for the no MOT rule to apply.

Is it having any centenary celebrations this year?

My car is '63 on an old (old) A reg

I am '85 on an (old) C reg

Every car I have had has been older than the last, and until this one, more powerful.

Mine being 50 next year is an excuse for a road trip, a trip to the factory would be appropriate if it didn't live most of its life down the road from it.
