Wow. Not much else to add. The thought of not owning an MP4 at some point in my life was already gutting.

To my eyes it looks better with the roof UP. Personal taste etc. Handy to have the option I suppose, but I live in England not Monaco or California.

I am going to go against the grain, some how with the roof down, the proportions just look suddenly all wrong. but as I am never likely to own one, I wont be loosing sleep, and I am sure those who buy it will be more then happy.

Love the coupe MP4-12C, with the roof off this is even better. Definitely the only modern supercar I would consider owning (if they came down in price a bit).

only 40kgs heavier than the coupe with a folding metal roof? how have they done that? that means the convertible must weigh the same or less than a coupe 458? remarkable!!
Probably because it isn't actually "metal" ?

Oh dear.

This and the 458 spider really don't work for me.

Those buttresses just look plain wrong. Why are they there!?

Such a shame. frown

Looks will always be subjective but I think that looks a lot better than the coupe and I don't even really like convertibles.

Now all they need to do is make it sound better.

Ditto... Nothing against convertibles but never wanted one... But this, definitely, if I had oh soooo much more money. I can see Macca finding this an easy sell.

Living and working nr McLaren I get to see a few of these and on Saturday (and I kid you not) within the space of 45 seconds I saw a silver fixed head McLaren, then a yellow Gallardo Spyder, a 458 and a Aston (a new one, sorry I could not distinguish it from its brethren) and yes the 458 is the one etched in my mind, but now the MP4-12C has suddenly become a contender.

Shame the photographer has overcooked the contrast and saturation, mkaes the pictures look ugly and garish.

Looking beyond that though, looks pretty good to me as a spider. I really hope Mclaren succeed at this sportscar lark.

I'm probably in the minority but I just don't like the design of the McLaren. The edges and lines seem too soft ... as if its a Japanese design and just not 'aggressive' enough looking. I'm talking about the Coupe and spider here.

I'm not particularly keen on the looks of the hard-top, and this just looks more awkward to me.
