junction dilemma
Discussion
On a main road near me there is a petrol station with an entrance that is 80ft after a side street,If you wanted to use the petrol station you would have to indicate after the side street(as there are people waiting to pull out across the road and if you signal before then they will think you are turning into said street) but before the entrance to the station.
This does not leave much time even when travelling @ 20mph for the traffic behind but they should be aware of what is happening in front,Never the less i have seen a few near misses.
Opinions?

I resent that comment. Mine has the indicator stalk in the boot meaning I have to stop the car (using hand signals) open the boot after pressing the unlock button on the dash and then operate it. Once pulled away I then have to stop again to repeat the process to cancel it. Much easier to not indicate in a BMW.
It's all in the Highway Code:
Signals (103-112)
103
Signals warn and inform other road users, including pedestrians (see 'Signals to other road users'), of your intended actions. You should always
give clear signals in plenty of time, having checked it is not misleading to signal at that time
use them to advise other road users before changing course or direction, stopping or moving off
cancel them after use
make sure your signals will not confuse others. If, for instance, you want to stop after a side road, do not signal until you are passing the road. If you signal earlier it may give the impression that you intend to turn into the road. Your brake lights will warn traffic behind you that you are slowing down

It's not the fact they're BMWs nowadays - seems to me to be more of a case of all marques TDI diesel superhero drivers who don't have time to indicate as they are too busy speeding to bother and generally demonstrating their oily superiority to mere mortals.
Back on topic, I'd begin to brake a bit, then indicate as I passed the junction, then brake to turn into the station. If you've slowed enough prior to passing the junction it won't cause much surprise to others behind you.

My driving instructor told me to treat everyone else as an idiot and to expect the unexpected,He also said if the brake lights of the car 2 cars in front come on then be prepared.Back on topic, I'd begin to brake a bit, then indicate as I passed the junction, then brake to turn into the station. I still treat everyone else as an idiot and so far have not crashed.
