Dont let finances stop you, who would care about boring stuff like food when you can drive an alfa?

Keep a close eye on the cambelt and oil-level though, if the belt hasnt been done recently, or oil is at or below LOW, walk away without even thinking twice.

I think the other Mr Farrendahl would leave me if I turned up with another car...that is unless they were willing to do a straight swap with my current one lol

As I said, hand grenade with the pin pulled. Is it going to blow up? Yeah. When I don't know, but it's gonna blow up!

A bit of early-nineties VAGness?

Would have made a crap story though. Tax, Ticket, Spares. Thats the add. And it is right at the top of the budget.

That GTV's been for sale for a long time, something tells me it might be a nail and its a shame it just cloth seats as most have the rather lovely momo leather interior.

With the fresh tax/ticket it looks appealing though if its ok, I dont think it mentioned that in the ad last time I saw it so maybe he's done it to shift the car.

The oil level and cambelts bits a good call, I've just had a quote of £400 from a cracking Alfa specialist for a cambelt on my cheaply bought 2.0 gtv.

400 quid for a 2.0 TS cambelt seems a tad steep, here in holland we have several alfa-specialists who do it for 275-300 euros. Anyway, both the oil and cambelt arent a problem is looked after properly, but going over the cam interval is taking a huge gamble with your engine, and oil level below minimum is almost sure to wreck your cranck-bearings, which isnt cheap to fix.

As for that particular car, GTVs are getting cheap, so if i were looking for one i'd probably dismiss it on the cloth interior and the TS engine, I do want a GTV some day, but i have my mind set on a V6 turbo with some teledails, preferably the deep metallic red.

Hmmm, sounds like a good excuse for a trip to Amshterdam for a cambelts change and a shmoke before the law changes!

A V6 Turbo, did we miss out on them in the uk as I think we only got the 2.0ts or 3.0 v6 n.a?
