What is involved and the costs? An Irish registered car....Oh and I mean 'just' to register the car over here, not the costs to get there and back! lol!

Thanks

Registered where in Ireland, the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland?

If it's the north then it's relatively easy and I believe you can even keep the Northern Irish non-dating plate. If it's from the Republic then you'll need to export and import it.

No, ROI is an EU nation, no VAT either unless there's outstanding VAT liability against that car.

You'll have to get it MOT'd in UK and then get it registered with DVLA, you'll need form V55/5.

MOT & on chassis number then register with V55/5, not difficult.

A lot of cheap performance cars to be had now in ROI since the Celtic Tiger stopped purring, head down to Dublin port any weekend and you'll see plenty of Jap imports getting on the ferry.

Thanks guys. It's definately appealing then! Can it be driven home though? ie from Ireland to Oxford??? Or is that illegal as it'll need an MOT pass first and to be registered with v55/5?

Why not book an MOT for that day and call in before you get home?
