Silly name, good car. Full marks to Vauxhall (And Opel). They've gone with something a little funky. Those that don't take themselves too seriously will certainly like this.

Car looks alright, seems like a good take on a somewhat samey genre. There are definitely worse named cars out there. But i'm not interested in any of that.

What's really cool about this model is its I.C.E. That screen on the centre console isn't plugged into a sat-nav or media player. All it does is mirror the functionality of the iPhone our Android you've plugged into it. Meaning you don't have to pay for expensive but ultimately limited options when you spec the car. You just use your phone's mapping, media player, internet, text messaging, calendar etc...

No doubt the screen and speaker system in the car are low rent, but as a concept it's the holy grail of connected I.C.E. Check out the news article on Whathifi

GM's copy of the Fiat 500 and Ford Ka Mk 1 - but why the hideous face on the thing? In a competitive market why hobble it from the start by making it the ugliest kid on the block? Not cute, not pretty - no sale.

EDIT: Suddenly realised - the nose is very errrm Tatra 603.

Name aside, I'm going to be bold and say that the Adam makes the Chrysler Ypsilon look good.

Not for me, but I think it's a smashing little car for what it is. Stupid name though.

I suppose it's a good job they didn't call it the JIM. Then we would have had the JIM JAM...& probably a lightweight JIM SLIM or for girlies a JIM SLIP?

Mind you I'd be surprised if they don't follow up with a specialist version for ladies- the EVE. Leading to the EVE HOE, EVE NING, & for horsey girls EVE ENTING.

I am actually annoyed. If a car were to be my namesake I would like it to be a decent one.

Adam Opel (9 May 1837 – 8 September 1895) was the founder of the German automobile company Adam Opel AG

And the car...what does it offer over a Corsa?

Well what does a city car ever offer over a supermini? I'd assume it's cheaper.

It's based on a shortened wheelbase corsa, I bet it will cost more. So you are left with the style statement and easier parking.

So much like the Fiat 500 or Alfa Mito then? Why would you buy either over a Panda/Punto?

Not really. The 500 is a posh version of the Panda, they use the same platform, 500 can justify the slight price increase. Both are cheaper than the Punto which has its own platform.

The MiTo is based on a standard Punto/ Corsa platform and costs more as its a premium product.
