Styling is late to the party given the 500/KA/A1.. The naming is, well, just rubbish. Sniff got it right: plagiarism on every angle.

I suspect their market research and design department need some new blood as everything to do with this car shrieks of a 50 year old trying to be trendy and getting it horribly wrong in an "embarrasing dad" way. No doubt lots of corporate back patting at the product that will save Vauxhall in the UK - but who will actually buy one?

I foresee significant discounting rather than pricing to sell on the merits of a strong product. If it is to compete on price, then I suspect a lot of buyers with that consideration will do little more than go straight to the korean offerings and walk away with money in their pocket and a warranty a mile long.

I'm getting too old at 33 to use this sort of vernacular, but this has fail written all over it.

What "Market segment" does this appeal to?
It appears that Vauxhall is desperate to bankrupt itself, who in their right mind will buy this car?
Really??

The name might be stupid, but the car looks modern, fresh and funky.
No, no it doesn't. It looks like a chop shop made 1 car from random bits of a Fiat 500 a Ford Ka and a smattering of AUDI A1 to fill in the gaps.
Its really pretty pathetic, can Vauxhall not design their own cars anymore?

Blimey, I really like that! Looks like an A1 but with style, great interior too (with the 'face').

Only thing I don't like it the name but if that's its biggest problem....

It looks like a decent enough motor for the segment.

I am not sure about the marketing strategy, but that said it isn't meant to appeal to us. It is meant to appeal principally to people under 30, who live in cities, who don't give a rats left testicle about cars, and are into all that image brand lifestyle crap.

It might work.

LOL

In any case, I can see some Audi A1 styling in there, but placed in the oven & half-baked for a bit.

On a side note, my youngest commented on the '!' at the end of the VW UP! last week; he thought it brought a degree of comedy to the name. His exact words were 'that's just stupid'.

Are all German manufacturers going to the same school of stupid names?
We already have VW with the TAKE, MAKE and HIGH UP, no doubt special editions of C**K and F**K to follow. So Opel come up with ADAM - JAM,SLAM and GLAM, we could have vauxhall(british) musical versions ANT and FAITH.

There was more praise from Misby Snidge of Belm; ‘Last month I almost bought a Citroen DS3 but it bothered me that one of the roof pillars had a gap at the top when really I wanted a car with a contrived gap at the bottom of the roof pillar. Now all my problems are solved with this new Vauxhall Adnams!’
Genius.

Not convinced on the styling, can't see it being a big seller.

The ADAM SKI? (Oh never mind).

Aesthetically, it's a better looking car than the A1, even if it's a combination of other peoples design ideas.

I don't think this will have a problem selling to people in their 20s who just need a car to travel around town.

Its not for me, and the name is suspect (its better than charisma for example) but I think its a respectable little car.

They'll sell loads, the UK loves small cars like this, and long may it continue.

Is it platform sharing with the Fiat 500 (and therefore also the Panda) as some posters have suggested, or a-n-other platform? Just curious because the Fiats both have a dash-mounted gearstick, and the ADAM does not.

Anyone who doesn't like cars, but does think that driving something gaudily painted in primary colours is "making a statement" (the "statement" presumably being "I look a bit of a berk in this thing").

I imagine the Top Gear review might last a little longer than Hamster extolling the virtues of a pink rag-top Micra.... but not much longer.
