RE: Is the Nurburgring about to go bankrupt?
Discussion
Fingers crossed this does happen, followed by flogging the thing for housing/industrial estates or just let go back to nature whatever. Thoroughly bored with hearing about how wonderful it is day in day out. Just another (ok it's long) race track. Get over it - there's plenty of others.

Are you on the right forum? For a PH'er, the 'Ring is one of the greatest places on earth.leghorn said:
How come the German government is allowed to bail out Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Ireland etc. But not allowed to bail out something in Germany????
+1Or a solution could be for a private individual/company to buy it out. From what I know it does generate alot of money/jobs for the villages around whom do seem to be happy, and proud that it is on thier doorstep. Unlike in the UK, where homes near some race-tracks do their damnedest to get them closed down.

Really, you think the current green movement that the EU have wholesale bought into isn't a threat?
So the biggest green issue the EU is facing is a people driving around a toll road in Germany?Guvernator said:

My worst fear is that the EU may just be using the Rings current financial woes as an excuse to shut the place down. I can't imagine a place that allows people to just turn up and drive cars very fast with little in the way of legislative involvement is very popular with the bureaucrats in Brussells. In fact I'd imagine there are quite a few EU greenies and Health and Safety nannies who are probably apocaleptic at the continued existence of the place.
My advice? Take the foil hat off and go outside for a bit of a stroll. As a bona fide Online Doctor I'd also recommend avoiding the Daily Mail and Express if you can.
Much love
I predict the Ring will cease to exist in it's current "turn up and drive" format within the next 10 years at most.
