Another vote for the Astra Mk 4 Bertone Cabby, get one in a 2.0l Turbo guise and you have what's probably one of the most practical 4 seaters around , also has one of the largest boots too...

150 mph v max

sensible running costs, and easy to get to 250+ bhp if the standard 200 isn't enough for you.

I suppose it might not have the ph snob value, but in every other regard.... it's certainly worth a look.
