Ah, so your name is because you own 5 pairs of DCs?

I always thought it was because of a car.....

I just like the DC stuff biggrin Comfiest trainers I've ever had. Tried Vans but they just weren't as good.

I've got a pair of Globe Superflys that are the comfiest shoes I've ever worn. They rule.
Google search done.

They do look pretty cool. Not a massive fan of the high top style but I do like those a lot.

It seems as if Dan was the first to say it reading the article? it was boring after the second one.Just because there are cars in it does not mean we cant find it boring,we are not children who can watch the same thing over and over again. But I do thing what he does is great and yeah we would all love to do it.Even if it is boring to the viewers.

No Ken, you're not a rally driver. Rally drivers have skill. The only reason you look remotely skilled on your stunt shows I'd because you practice them hundreds of times. When you actually try and do proper men's rallying you always crash because you cant deal with an unpredictable route. Now shut up and go have another can of Monster, you annoying little
adrenaline junkie
I couldn't believe what I was reading when I opened this thread!

You are a tool!
I await to see the video of your driving skills... oh? No? I didn't think so. rolleyes

Same goes for all the other driving Gods on here.

Just to be able to compete in WRC, whether you crash out or not, means you are at the pinnacle.
It's motorsport, even the best crash. The Guy humbly admits he's not the best, and admits any good rally driver can do what he does.

I enjoyed the interview, and it's nice to see what a nice bloke he is. He's obviously a very clever Guy too.
I'd jump at the chance to be in the passenger seat.

A lot of envy going on.
Even though the gymkhana videos are starting to get played out, I still enjoy them and think Ken is living the dream, good on him I say!

I also agree with Dan's point. Not sure what else Ken can do within his skillset, but he did kind of play most of his aces in the first gymkhana. I remember the first time I saw him doing donuts around a moving target on a Sedgeway and I thought wow, that's different. By Gymkhana 5 it's not different anymore. Would be awesome to see live though.

The thing I can't answer is, what can he add to the next one that will reintroduce the wow to what are still entertaining videos? The sideways jump did it this time, and I must say I thought the drift around the raised road section near the start got my attention too, I thought that was quite ballsy even though in reality if he'd got it wrong he'd have just pinballed between the barriers a bit.

I interpret what Dan is saying in music terms, Ken's productions are still entertaining but they're starting to need a new hook.

I really enjoyed the interview and respect Mr Block's honesty about his personal abilities and why he does the events he does.

While on youtube I did see another video I though was pretty good, here is the link:

As a piece of beautiful film making the end sequence where he does donuts on the barge as it sails across SF harbour to the Styx "Come sail away" is even better than Matt Munro and the Miura in the alps, which is a clip most petrolheads seem to get strangely excited about.

I'm sorry, doing donuts in a fiesta is better than driving the Alps in a Lambo?

I met Ken at Wales Rally GB last year.

I asked him a few questions about the Gymkhana vids, WRC and all the other stuff he's done (Impreza on skis etc.) and he just came across as the happiest guy ever. Just seemed really greatful that he gets to do all this fun stuff, and he has a genuine love for cars and doing what he does. Sort of the same as in the interview. His enthusiasm is infectious.

This is bulls**t. Ken block is one of the best rally drivers in US, second by travis pastrana. He won two years in a row for rallying. Plus he runs one of the most successful clothing business of the 90's. Like he said in his interview he can't do everything. And Kimi is fukin awesome. He wasn't world champion 2008 in F1 for a reason. And is successful in f1 to this present day. Rant over!!! smile
