Petrol prices on the up again
Discussion
Last week noticed my local Shell station put their prices up by 1p and then over the weekend another 1p increase and then yet again this morning another 1p - three increases in around 10 days...
When petrol was coming down in price at one point the premium between Unleaded and VPower was 11p at the same petrol station, presumably because they hadn't had a delivery of VPower in the time that the price of unleaded had been failing. How come it never works the other way round - ie will VPower only be 5p more than unleaded tonight if they haven't had a delivery of VPower in the time they have increased the price of unleaded by 3p a litre. I think I know the answer to that one!

One of the BP stations I pass on the way to work is the same - it goes up and down almost on a hourly basis. Compare that to the Tesco station and that hardly moves at all. I'm beginning to think that some stations edge the price up until trade starts to decline, then drop the price again until they find the sweet spot.

My V Power is still sat at a very reasonable £1.37
Standard unleaded currently at 1.31
I hope that "very reasonable" is sarcasm? Me and dad were discussing how prices came down a little the other day, I said Morrisons had fallen to 133.9 p/l, and he said that was cheap. We looked at each other and said "no it's not!" It's still a rip off. You could say it's relatively cheap/reasonable.Standard unleaded currently at 1.31
Don't worry - tongue firmly in cheek.
Its all relative isn't it?
A few years ago i was doing mega miles for work and can clearly remember being horrified at paying £1.23 for diesel.
Now i'm relativly pleased that I'm only paying £1.37 for super?!
I can't see us ever being in a situation again where i'll be paying £1.23 for either fuel!

Ah well that's ok then I know, like I said above I thought, wow 1.33, that's good! Still, whinging about it won't achieve anything. Its all relative isn't it?

School Holidays and bank speculation.... forced the price from $97 a barrel (should have been £1.15 at the pumps at that point .....to last weeks $110 a barrel.... now fallen to $103 as they try to keep it above $100 a barrel to "justify" the rip off prices at the pump.... someone is making big money out of this aside of the 80p tax on a litre...
