I'll go wherever the car is but the furthest for me wasn't a car, it was for 2 wheels! The guy said he'd courier them down to me but I had a day off and just thought balls to it.

London to Glasgow.

It was when I was going past Manchester and realising I was only half way that I fully realised the extent of my impatience and stupidity!

Last week we drove from central Scotland to Coleford in Gloucester to look at a car, turned out to be a bit rusty in certain areas of the chassis... the seller, who'd already booked at holiday on the back of the sale had to pick his jaw up off the floor when my mate declined to buy it and we drove home again. Just shy of 900 miles in a day.

We also went to Bath with an Omega V6 and a car trailer to buy a Cavalier worth £300. Cue another gobsmacked seller as we strapped it down and drove home with it. Again, just over 850 miles. The fuel bill was more than the car was worth but that was beside the point.

Also done central belt to London on a couple of occasions to buy cars plus the likes of Birmigham twice, Lincoln, Nottingham, Inverness and tomorrow we're away to Peterlee to pick up another car for the mate.

The roadtrips are half the fun!

Edinburgh to Crawley to pick up a Focus TDCI a few years ago, flew down on a cheap flight in the morning, dealer picked me up and took me round to the garage, drove it back up to Scotland that afternoon/evening.

Drove from Bellshill to Bristol earlier this year to pick up my RS too.

Seems I like to travel when there is a Focus involved!

Warwick to Belfast to buy my M5. A 400 mile return journey. Also travelled from Warwick to Aberdeen to buy an M3 that turned out to be a bit rubbish, so the drive home wasn't quite as good as expected. In all, 990 miles done in the day!

The seller looks quite young. Did he drive a particularly hard bargain or was he fairly easy to deal with? biggrin
They're all short up there - I think that's where the Umpa Lumpas come from.

Glasgow to Ashford to collect a W201 2.5 diesel I'd got on ebay. Great car, had it almost 3 years before it died.

Between Newcastle & Durham (Washington) to Canary Wharf in London for a £500 Escort

Washington to Essex to look at my Chevy pickup, then had it delivered as I didn't fancy another 700 mile round trip.

Washington to Armagh/Belfast for my Maserati then via Stranraer on the way home.

North London to Peterborough. I probably wouldn't travel as far again given how scandalous most descriptions are these days... 40 miles max!

hehe

I went to see two cars in peterborough, both of them looked great in the photos, in real life they looked terrible!
