BMW 328i would be a good one, they fly under the radar if you get an SE.
+1 on that, although I am heavily biased.

Xantia or XM, aren't they different models?
They are different cars, but are very similar. This is the problem. The Xantia looks normal and therefore acceptable, the XM doesn't and therefore isn't acceptable.

Keeping the GTA is out of the question, as she knows how much I spend on keeping it running smile

Like the others had said, a Volvo T5.

Slide a plastic card under the T5 badge on the boot to remove it for extra stealth points.

No need....when you pass someone at speed it is too small for them to read anyway biggrin

I'm liking that. Not sure I need an estate tho, my car doesn't get used that often...

We (my Mum) had an XM. I really don't see how it doesn't look normal though?

It's just a large hatch/saloony type car. Ok a little pointy at the front, but so is an early Rover 800.

Estates have more Kudos at 150mph though biggrin get it remapped and push M3s along.

This is what I am up against. She just want's me to get a normal car, and she doesn't think that's normal.

Personally I'd just go buy something and turn up at home with it. Too late to take it back by then. biggrin

Bora and Passat 4motions are available for around £1k but these aren't that wild.

So for out an out power and discreetness the Saab 95 2.3 Aero/Hot models with 250+hp are worth a look. My dad had a 95 Aero and it took tonnes of abuse, plenty of motorway miles with a good dose of B road thrashing. At the time I also had a 93t and to be honest even though the 95 is a much bigger car especially in the back it didn't feel like it was any bigger to chuck around.

high output turbocharged Saabs and Volvos fly below the radar, especially estates.

Buy whatever car you want, and put this sticker on the back

Do you get any input into which clothes/shoes she buys?
Tell her you will choose your own car, in the same way that she would want to choose her own car!

It's all about keeping a hormonal woman happy. If she thinks its normal, yet I can still enjoy it, then everybody is a winner!

Price is 1999, not 999. Why do people do that?!
