Updated info , yes its just an NIP . I guess this is signed to say "yes its me in the car" and then they send you a fine back. All standard stuff is it ?
Yes. She'll get a fixed penalty, £60 and 3 points.

Funnily enough I got caught doing 43 in a 30 last year. Got 3 points and a fine. Certainly no summons!
That's hardly surprising is it. Here are the ACPO guidelines,

Limit - Fixed Penalty - Summons

20 mph - 25 mph - 35 mph
30 mph - 35 mph - 50 mph
40 mph - 46 mph - 66 mph
50 mph - 57 mph - 76 mph
60 mph - 68 mph - 86 mph
70 mph - 79 mph - 96 mph

Straight to summons for an alleged 43 in a 30mph limit is a bit odd.
I disagree. Nearly 50% over any speed limit is always going to attract attention.

It's only 1MPH above the latest ACPO guidelines for a speed awareness course (limit +10% + 9MPH).

All the instructions of what to do and the likely charges and points should be on the NIP, atleast that's the way mine was delivered. All pretty straight forward, you were caught at (time and date) on (road) in (area), then what they intend to do for the prosectution (3 points, £60). My letter had information about the tineframe for a reply, the level of fines and points and the margins of how it worked.

Do different forces use different formats?
