I've been offered a car parking space at work, which is within the congestion charging zone. I'm considering taking it up if I can get a CC charge free car that will be reasonably comfortable and won't make me look like a tit (no G-wiz please).

What car would you recommend? My budget won't stretch to a Tesla unfortunately!

I've been doing a bit of reading around LPG. Is it true that the exemption for LPG cars finishes on December this year? I read something a car having less that 100 Co2 emissions and is a Euro 5 for emissions.

Not sure about LPG, but the 2012 consultation considers whether the 100g limit should be reduced to 80g - this might be announced in September (it's what BoJo wants) with a view to bringing it in before the end of the year. This, obviously, would reduce the range of (new) vehicles you could go for - of which I'd go for a TwinAir jobby, maybe a FiatPanda over a Fiat500, but there's something like 250 models that currently qualify.

Land Rover with 9 seats should be congestion charge exempt. Get a V8 and some side exit exhausts.

So a 110 defender with the bench seats then! Do they exist with a V8? Either way, TD5 and half a ton of mud up the sides ought to suitably annoy the enviro nutters!

There are some V8s around, but they're rare. I don't think they've offered them to the UK market with a factory-fitted V8 since the '80s.
Barring a couple of special editions, such as the 50th anniversary model in 1998.
