What is not to like! One important statistic missing from the equation is curb weight. While those are great HP/torque figures they are not over the top for a Porsche, yet impressive with only a 3.2 L engine.

I really like the OTT GT1 road cars, it's about as far as homologation specials go. I think its the fact that the manufacturers ended up building what are effectively pretty useless roadcars in order to have the best possible racecar.
It's the same with a lot of the group B rally cars, none of them were built with any consideration to being a practical, or even useable road car, they are only built to be as fast as possible.

+1! Equally rare, expensive, impractical, but so much better looking and sounding.
Isn't that the one with the shocking minicab interior?

If so then it's one to have your neighbour own so you get to see the best of it.

I absolutely love this car, but I have to admit, I'd rather have a Schuppan 962 and then a CLK GTR before one of these.

I meant that the CLK GTR's exterior looks far better than the Porsche's. For what it's worth, the CLK's interior just looks like standard 90s Merc to me. Like most things at this level, it really comes down to the personal taste limitations of the owner.

The 993 derived look was much better than the 996 version (I know that it actually had very little to do with those cars)

Nice car, but I agree with a few comments on here: I would have the CLK GTR.

Just for that engine bay alone!

Expensive alternative to a much better car which it seems to be trying to copy (given the limited styling ability of Porky designers), the Maserati MC12

IMHO as usual.

Cheers

The MC12 came 8 years later though!

There's storage lockers in there somewhere, I believe. Like a lot of supercars (am thinking McLaren F1 in particular), there's probably no easy or dignified way of getting in and out of your CLK GTR!

I don't think it was that stupid but I think it copied more from the Bugatti Veyron and the McLaren MC12-4C. Definitely.... Don't you agree?
