A few weeks ago, I went to a show room to test drive some cars, the car salesman let me try 3 cars, a subaru Impreza, astra vxr and a rx8, after the test drive I was speaking to him and I said the rx8 didn't feel all that fast and his reply was its faster than an evo 11! Shows they know f**k all about cars! Whether I'm missing something but I'm sure he's one step ahead of himself! At that point I grabbed my coat and left, chuckling to myself!

t out it's engine at 80k. Fact! 
I went for a test drive of a new MX5 recently with the sales guy in the passenger seat. On leaving the dealers I noticed that the fuel gauge was reading almost a quarter full, better than many test drives which have been done with the fuel warning light on. Thought nothing more about it until we hit the first bit if dual carriageway where I got a chance to see how well it pulled away. I commented that it was very good through the gears, smoother than my current car but didn't have the same acceleration. This is what I'd expected and was quite happy with. Anyway, the sales guy goes quiet for a minute and then asks me to check the fuel gauge. Quick glance down and I tell him it's still reading just under a quarter. Ah, that'll be it then. If the gauge is reading low the engine doesn't rev as high so you don't use as much fuel but you lose some performance. Genius.
