So an update on what is now being called Pologate.
Call from sister one this morning
Sister 1: "Um the garage won't give me finance on a new Fiesta so I was wondering if the offer of the Polo was still there?"
Me: "Well you'll have to speak to your sister, when you turned the car down in the first place I gave her first refusal and she's taking it."
Sister 1 (in a slightly disgruntled manner): "Oh.....okay well I'll ask her then."
The off shot of our conversation?
Sister 2 has given Sister 1 two options, She can have the Polo but she will have to buy it off of her once all the work is completed and because she's family she'll let her buy it for £3000. Option 2 is she can have the other car that Sister 2 has been working on that is perfectly driveable has just over 6 months MOT and few months tax on it. The car in question a 1990 Volvo 240 GL.
To rub salt into the wound Sister 2 has pointed out to Sister 1 that she doesnt't have the £3000 to buy the Polo off of her in the first place so in Sister 2's words to Sister 1 "I tell you what I'll make sure the Volvo is fully washed ready for your first day, and because I'm feeling generous I'll even put £20 of fuel in for you."
Is it wrong that I'm feeling a huge amount of pride for Sister 2 and slightly vindicated

Not at all. I feel the thread has come to a satisfying conclusion; Sister 1 got her comeuppance and Sister 2 played her cards brilliantly.Call from sister one this morning

look, I'll help you out. If you really want to give someone the Polo I'll do the decent thing and let you give it to me.
I dont think it's your sister#1 being ungreatful is it really, that's more her boyfriend talking. Talk to her again properly and alone. If she really doesn't want it (I can't think why she wouldn't) then fair enough and give it to sister#2. If sister#1 didn't need it for a job it would be going straight to sister#2 in my opinion.
Never stop being Mr Protective my sisters are both older than me and I still do it. Really nice thing you're doing.

Sisters 2 and 3 sound great.
Sister 1 needs a wake up call to reality - perhaps the Ford finance refusal will help (although not with Aygo-boy!)
PS - any pics of the Landy?
I'm actually waiting for Landy pics at the moment as number 3 has been somewhat busy getting them sent over (apparently she has been helping nurse Zebras somewhere, if thats not something for the CV I don't know what is) so when she is back in the UK I have asked her if she'd mind me putting up a "Vets in a Land Rover on the road" thread as I imagine they have had some very interesting times.Sister 1 needs a wake up call to reality - perhaps the Ford finance refusal will help (although not with Aygo-boy!)

Sister 2 sounds awesome! You do realise that your whole family is going to end up not talking to each other and that it'll all be your fault, don't you?

Thats because Sister #3 has herself well and truly sorted and is currently doing a world tour in a Land Rover before she comes back home to be a serious vet lol
I'm shocked no one picked up on this yet, is sister 3 single? Deva Link said:

No no, I believe you will find that it is perfectly appropriate to pimp ones sister out farrendahl said:
