That video is awesome - ignore the fogeys with their "what's all this new fangled tilt-shift" wheezing...
Comparing it to the Climb Dance video shows how much things have changed too - for starters, the current cars aren't as good-looking

It's not exactly new, and it does work for some of the film, but for most of the film it's crap.Comparing it to the Climb Dance video shows how much things have changed too - for starters, the current cars aren't as good-looking

Gravel ... it needs the gravel back ... without it's no longer a particularly special event.
And a big for Gary C's Michelle Mouton reference - a proper legend!
How is it no longer special? It dwarfs all other hill climb events across the globe. To me it is still an amazing spectacle. And a big for Gary C's Michelle Mouton reference - a proper legend!
i'll wait untill this event is over and i've seen what footage of it i can before judging if i still find it as special as when it still had gravel sections.
anyone know if the cars run with co-drivers in still? i saw one or two pics of 2 people in the car and others running solo. i wonder if there is any advantage to having one?
obviously some can only run solo as their single seater

Very useful if you don't know it like the back of your hand, and don't feel like having a massive off down a cliff! Different now from when I went as crew, I think most (all?) corners have guardrails now, but not sure they would stop something moving this fast. It's a quite long track, lots of different corners to remember.Beefmeister said:
I can't stand that sodding tilt shift nonsense in videos and images. Why purposefully make you image/video look like it's a model village?
Odd.
I couldn't agree more! cr*p video! I can't hear the cars, and it's obviously been made by some "arty" type who's more interested in how glossy it looks that the actual action!Odd.

You're not wrong, that's awesome. What a shame the gravel's been replaced with tarmac.vz-r_dave said:
