Would appreciate some opinion since I'm not really sure what to do.

The warranty of my GTR runs out next month. I've also found out today that the front OEM rubbers need replacing (well technically it's still very road legal but some of the insides are worn to 1.6mm). OEM tyres are very rare and to source from dealership would cost me circa £1100 fitted...

I've also recently added a Y Pipe to the car and also Stage 1 Litchfield tune and 2012 gearbox software upgrade to the car. In my opinion those are the best mods you can have for the the MY09 GTR without spending mega bucks.

Anyway, I am wondering if I should spend more money getting tyres done (either get 2 new fronts or change all 4 to non runflats...) or should I p/x the car in for another?

I am tempted to try out something new but truth to be told within my budget I am not sure what to go for... I would appreciate some suggestions. Been looking around the classifieds and quite taken by the F10 BMW but not too sure about that. Other choices were Porshes (GenII Carrera 4S, 2012 Boxster S...) and I'm also not too sure...

What would you do? Spend circa £2k more + warranty or prep the car for p/x?

Ahh, tyres. Linglong Ditchfinder GTRs are good, unexpected drifting is an excellent spectator sportsmile

New tyres, learn to drive in a nun-like way 85% of the time...

Get some new rubber and keep the car in A1 condition, not much out there better within budget.

P/X offer will take into account 'necessary spend' so, give or take, same outcome either way.

Q:

What do GTR owners trade up to?

New set of tyres on my car cost around 10% of the value of the car. That's the Clio. Wouldn't dream of selling it just because tyres are a bit pricey. If that's even a consideration for you perhaps you are looking for a change anyway?

The problem is GTRs can be picked up for large rep mobile prices, but have supercar running costs.

The tyres cost £600+ for the rear axle and £500+ for the front. And they last about 5-6000 miles yikes This is the main difference, the clio's tyres may cost 10% of the cars value, but you don't have to change them twice a year doing 12,000 miles...

Yes but comparing a gtr to a clio is like comparing Natalie Portman to Anne Widdicome.

Surely any dealer looking at your GTR as a trade-in will know how much tyres cost and adjust your "cost to change" accordingly.

I'd put 4 new tyres on the car and enjoy it.

Lichfield have recently found new tyres that they rate better than OEM. Buggered if I can remember what they are though. Speak to them and take their advice on rubber. And keep the GTR.

At the moment looking into E92 M3s not as trading up but would prefer something different and cheaper to run...

However, not too sure about that now.

Yes, looking into these. Around £1200 for all four so not too bad but will need to get proper kit just in case of puncture. Also need to find a TPMS friendly puncture kit.
