Not really. I have no idea if it was a new 911 C4S or a 35 year old scrappy 914. It was the attitude that the OP thought his car made a difference to the traffic warden that made me think he had a small potato based fried product on his shoulder, and that he even needed to mention it...
Until the OP clarified I assumed he had a BMW.

What a daft comment. It's amasing the number of people in nice cars I see who are not acting like a cock. I see people driving around in their Porsches, Ferarris, Lambos and Bently's all the time (this being Cheshire) and none of them stand out in any way other than the car they drive.

The cockery is purely an artefact of the observer's prejudice/jealousy most of the time.

How dare you insinuate that just because Cheshire is full of Manchester footballers and rich second home types that there are lots of nice cars there! Typical of all people from Cheshire, moaning about the rich ones in their nice cars!

There is no amusement here. I'd ask for 30 seconds of my life back that I took to read that but I'd only waste them.

Irrespective of what car RtdRacer owns the "parking attendant" does sound like a jumped up jobsworth gimp

I think that was the point. Make/ model/ wealth of owner irrelevant
It would have been irrelevant if it hadn't been for the "oh, just another prole jealous of my PORSCHE" comments at the end. smile

Does the OP think for one tiny minute that the attendant even noticed what model of car it was?
You lot sure did. :-)
Yes, because you were so keen to point it out, to us and to the parking attendant (who probably really couldn't care less, how many cars do you think they see a day?)

Well, if she had given you a ticket, regardless of whether it was a disabled space or not, I'd have put it in my mouth, chewed it a little and spat it back at her.
I had to check and, yup, Porsche 911 driver! laugh

A few years ago the PH response would have been supportive of the OP and derisory of the parking minion.

Sad times we live in now.
It still would be if it weren't for the "oh she was just a jealous poor person, envious of my PORSCHE!!!" comments. wink

Reading a bit too much into it, methinks. She was delighted she'd caught someone in a stereotypical car - the way it played out was amusing in my mind. I wasn't smug or arrogant - I was whimsical and relaxed. Your mileage may vary.
i'm not for or against in this topic as such. think of me as switzerland.
but i looked at your name and this first thing i thought was ''retarded racer'' lol.
no offence meant, it's more of a poor reflection on me, than your good self!

My belief is that she got particularly jobsworth because it was a Porsche. I base this on my observation of her at the time. If anyone else was there and can comment, I am happy to be correct. I could well be wrong - it is only a subjective opinion. I thought I was quite pleasant to her despite her attitude at the time. Not sure how that's been parlayed into total wker, but there you go.

Although the amount of venom and bile generated from what was in fact a pretty innocent post is quite astonishing. :-) I shall continue to cheerfully not rise to any of it.

OK, this is the first post that's annoyed me a bit. Of course it's Porsche owner bashing - you really think they'd have been 40 posts telling me I'm a wker if I'd been in a Renault?

WARNING: Reasoned debate with evidence coming up. Seasoned PH'ers look away now.

Given that it has obviously made a difference here that I drive a Porsche (at least 3 comments around 'typical arrogant Porsche driver' or similar), then why should she be different?

Come on, be honest - if I was a CP attendant, I'd be much happier sticking a ticket on some twunt in a Ferrari/Porsche/Aston/Whatever who'd parked in a disabled spot that just some youth in a 15 year old Corsa.

For you to suggest otherwise is a bit unrealistic and frankly naive. But hey, don't let that stop you.

OP, you have forgotten you live in the UK, home of tallest poppy syndrome & petty jealousy and zero personal responsibility.

People cannot abide others doing well, or admit to making a mistake, don't forget NOTHING is ever the fault of the person who fked up.

By the simple fact you own a Porsche, you are automatically a stuck up rich self satisfied prick wink , and obviously need to be brought down a peg or two!

Just think how much easier it would have been for the parking womble to say "oops sorry my mistake, silly me".... But that will never happen as a) they were probably too thick to realize they were wrong, & b) Admitting they had made a mistake would require them to lose face....

Just let it float over your head & enjoy the Porch smile
