"I think you'll find they're all disabled spaces here sir, and it does have a sign." she replied.

"OK, let's see", and I jumped in and backed it half out of the space to reveal the empty rectangle.

"Oh. Well, that doesn't matter - it's still a disabled space."
Reminds me on that quote from Mythbusters "i reject your reality and substitute it with my own".

I love how alot of people with nice cars think people are against them for having a nice car

It's not that trust me

It's usually the fact your acting like a cock
rofl

What a daft comment. It's amasing the number of people in nice cars I see who are not acting like a cock. I see people driving around in their Porsches, Ferarris, Lambos and Bently's all the time (this being Cheshire) and none of them stand out in any way other than the car they drive.

The cockery is purely an artefact of the observer's prejudice/jealousy most of the time.
Sometimes its down to jealousy, sometimes its down to the guy acting like a cock.

Prime example, I was waiting in a petrol station a while back. A young lad turned up in a TTRS and the car infront was taking longer than he had liked to move off. So he started revving, over and over.

The guy infront of me turned and stared at him for about 5secs, before shaking his head and getting into his car to drive off. The TTRS owner clearly saw this gesture, he wasn't embarrased about his behavour at all. It wouldn't suprise me if he thought he got that look because he was in a nice car. Infact, he got it because he was a cock.

It seems the OP has jumped to the conclusion he was targetted because he had a nice car, this could be the truth, although it may not be. It reminds me of the Lombardo thread last week, thinking he was picked on because of his appearance when he was being treated like everybody else.

It doesn't go down well, and for good reason. As I said on the first page, I thought the story was quite good until the last 2 paragraphs, where the "is it cos I is black" mentality shone through.

You're dead right - it's highly subjective. I thought she was being a bit horrible because of the car - but like I said, I could be completely wrong. Regardless, I wasn't rude or aggressive to her - I made a mildly ascerbic comment, that's all, along with a nice smile.

Is there a grade beyond 'total wker' had I actually been nasty to her?

My belief is that she got particularly jobsworth because it was a Porsche. I base this on my observation of her at the time.
Go on then, what did you observe?

Because so far it seems you have left that bit out, and instead are operating under the assumption of "I've got a posh car, everyone must therefore be jealous of me".

Although the amount of venom and bile generated from what was in fact a pretty innocent post is quite astonishing. :-) I shall continue to cheerfully not rise to any of it.
Interestingly, I've noticed very little vemon or bile, just people pointing out that you've made a little bit of a prat of yourself toward someone that you seem to consider beneath you.

How very dare they, I expect they must all just be jealous too. wink

Yes, because obvious 'a little bit of a prat of yourself' was the phrase everyone used. Not 'Total wker'.

Given that it has obviously made a difference here that I drive a Porsche (at least 3 comments around 'typical arrogant Porsche driver' or similar), then why should she be different?

Come on, be honest - if I was a CP attendant, I'd be much happier sticking a ticket on some twunt in a Ferrari/Porsche/Aston/Whatever who'd parked in a disabled spot that just some youth in a 15 year old Corsa.

For you to suggest otherwise is a bit unrealistic and frankly naive. But hey, don't let that stop you.
No, I think it's only you creating the issue and the one with a chip on your shoulder.

I'm Yorkshire lad, we don't have many pretensions up here. If someone is in a nice car, they probably worked hard for it.

I remember a story about why my parents moved up to Yorkshire. Looking at towns they might want to move to, they stopped for fish and chips in the town square. Sat on the wall eating them out of the paper (as you should).

A Rolls Royce pulls up, out get a couple, dressed in very smart clothes (Sunday best you might call it). In they go, get their fish and chips and come out and sit on the wall with everyone else eating fish and chips out of the paper.

I didn't recall that phrase being used but I've had a look through the thread and you're right, it was. Can you guess who by...?

But you had to be there - the palpable sense of glee at being able to stick one to that 'total wker in a 911 parked in a disabled spot' was awesome!

Not bloody rich. I wish. Plead guilty to the rest on occasion with good grace. Also dance like a total buffoon.

Ta. I only care because I once had someone threatening to get 'the authorities on me' because of a disagreement online. Nutter, essentially. Not that you'd ever see unreasoning hatred on a web forum, oh no. Anyway, I think I know where you live anyway. :-)

You've been saying that since mopping me up off various racetracks from about 1999 onwards.
