I think I may go dig out all the drawings of cars I did when I was a kid, I must be a shoe in for a job in that department.

Amazing, truly original, the best looking thing i've seen in 30 years along with the new Pagani.

I worked on the new series of capt. Scarlet 7 years ago or so and peter stevens designed the main car for it ... This looks a lot like it but even better !

Wonder if the design brief said "make sure the front looks just like an Audi" in it anywhere?? ;-)

Oh my........ well, it's not really a looker is it?? Not one of those 'bite the back of your hand as you look back at it' cars.... If I had seen this on Barryboys I would of been less shocked.. I'd of thought someone had been sniffing glue whilst adding fibreglass to a Ford Cougar or similar....

BUT... be interesting to see what comes next out of their design studios... could be (as commented on) a bit of future MC design coming out....

Fair play to whoever bought it/commissioned it, you sir have not only very deep pockets, but enormous gonads for it!!!

Well it is....different. And I suppose you'd be able to drive it knowing that you'll never see another one on the road.

However, if I were in a position to have MSO sort out a car for me, I'd just get them to stick some numberplates on the GT3 car, and possibly some Browning .50cal machine guns.

WTF, just WTF.

Don't get me wrong if it was something made by Chip Foose et al out of a Chevy V8 etc I would admire it, but to make something like that out of a focused supercar in my opinion is just wrong.
It just seems that the industry is getting carried away and whoring out its skills to the highest bidder.
Well aslong as the customer is happy with his one of, then who am I to say.

I don't like the front much, but the rest is pretty good. I find the interior a bit conservative for the rest of the car.

It's really refreshing to see Mclaren doing something different (albeit not risky because somebody commissioned it), and also not being worried about what convention says.

It won't affect their customer base (because if you liked the MP4-12C before, you'll still like it now), and it may even increase it, by showing what they're are capable of (assuming anyone ever doubted their capabilities).

I like it. It's interesting, which is the most important thing. Honestly, when the 12C came out you couldn't move on here for people saying how boring it looked!

Fantastic - that this is something which can be done, which someone wanted done and has been seen through to completion. If I had the money it is not what my ultimate supercar would look like, but when I am in the position to have one made it is nice to know it can be done.

I do love the rear lights when seen directly from the rear, but that is the best feature in my opinion.

Fantastic, I love it. Very different.

Might have suited a longer wheelbase and being done as a 2+2, but yeah. Nice work McLaren, and to the owner for having the stones to commission such a bold car.

Indeed.

This is one crazy car... just what the customer wanted I guess.

I saw it a bit earlier in an Email from CAR Magazine, I'm not sure I get it.

1. I don't see any motor sport connection, but then again Ferrari were supposedly a racing team that made road cars as a second string to support the racing effort and some one off Ferrari's, like Clapton's Berlinetta Boxer homage, have been a bit weird.

2. It just screams Batmobile.

I've only just realised the McLaren stylised Flying Kiwi in the rear lights. I was first thinking Maserati 3200GT boomerangs.

That sounds like a possibility. Anyone else got thoughts on who else it might be? Leno? Atkinson? Dennis? Murray? Flemke?
