Not much going on in the MG forum...

In need of something a bit practical, hence looking at an estate, but no harm in it having a 4.6L V8 in at the same time smile

Trouble is I'm a but naive as to the pros and cons of these cars/engines - I'm gonna do some research on-line, but wondered if people had any tips / advice / buyers guides, or any snippets of advice as to what to look for on a viewing etc?

Or, if I do take the plunge, who in the Midlands would be good to use for regular servicing/parts etc?

Bit concerned that the RWD will eat up quite a bit of depth on the boot, but will have a look at one in the flesh to check it out.

Also saw some spec lists on a web-site (can't find it now) that said it had traction control on the SE but not on the base-spec. Seemed strange to fit it only on the SE, I'd assumed it would just be traditional "options" (xenons, CD player, climate, cruise, those sort of things) that were chucked-in on the SE.

Any help appreciated smile

The only big thing I hear about is wear to the rear suspension which is expensive to sort as the parts are custom made by Bilstein. You'd have to look that up though - I'm not 100% sure.

This site probably has everything you need to know:

The RWD doesn't take up any more boot space, it just loses half the spare wheel well to make space for the diff.

Look on the two -sixties forum. There is a supercharged one up for grabs right now for under £8k.
