Amen to all of that, Pistonwot your views have been noted and I realise the topic is not to your liking but better that we get back on it. Great pics RRG and thanks for sharing! My Range in the Galgalu Desert, Northern Kenya, 2 days drive from any civilisation let alone roads

After all the arguments I've read on this thread, I think there's a simple solution to all of this.
Pistonheads for me is not just about cars that "go fast", otherwise it would from my perspective soon turn into a monolithic series of rants about Huayras vs Koenigseggs vs F40s vs Veyrons. Or a TVR, Lotus and 911 forum.
I love debating all these cars don't get me wrong, but here's what I think of the L322 Range Rover, arguably my favourite car of the last decade.
Put simply, it combines fantastic capability with unrivalled luxury in its class, and handsome looks that draw upon a great heritage in British car building. It is a Swiss army knife of cars - able to traverse dirt tracks and boulders with ease, yet smart enough and with the right road manners to be used as transport to the opera.
Say what you like about its reliability (and I don't argue against it) but it is a magnificent piece of engineering.
I thought on here we celebrate magnificent pieces of automotive engineering - it may not suit your purpose, or go fast enough in corners for your liking, but the thing is an icon and a superemly capable vehicle.

That is CAR fanatic. It really does mean CAR fanatic. Now look at what CAR means, you and the others really need to.
Lastly look up 4x4
cough coughLastly look up 4x4
"An automobile, autocar, motor car or car is a wheeled motor vehicle used for transporting passengers, which also carries its own engine or motor."
and
"The name car is believed to originate from the Latin word carrus or carrum ("wheeled vehicle"), or the Middle English word carre ("cart") (from Old North French), in turn these are said to have originated from the Gaulish word karros (a Gallic Chariot)."
A Range Rover would seem to equally fit these descriptions...

Here are two of my Range Rovers, A 95 Classic and a 2010 TDV8. TBH, I am not sure which is my favourite to drive! It is interesting to see the size comparision when they are parked side by side.....
I would never own a range rover not because i dont like them but because i couldent you see since the good old farmers work hoarse days of the range rover they have more and more become the home of the latest pop star or glamour model who just uses them to give them as presence on the road and a way of showing of by fitting big wheels and low bumpers which is fine by me its there car who am i to stop them but thats the reason i would never own a range rover because i do not want to be associated with that crowd or that culture (i think its called bling or chav i get mixed up). It is quite sad because most range rovers will never be used for what they were made for which is hardcore off roading or heavy duty use . Any way if i were to get a big comfortable fast 4X4 i would get a landcruiser V8 not because i want to create an argument on this thread but because i do not want to be seen in the range rover crowd but want the closest thing i can get to a range rover and it would be the same for me if all the celebritys drove customised Landcruisers i would get a range rover . So all in all great car ruined by the drivers (not all of them you guys on the fourum are ace) .

Why do you give a st what anybody else thinks?I don't believe any Range Rover customers are so worried about image they end up buying a Toyota.
The only vehicle, IMHO, that has continued to make me think that every owner is a knob of the highest order.
Badly parked, poorly driven, bombastic attitude, look at me status...
Hates gonna hate, and I hate.
I know a lot of owners, and they all fill my idea of a RR owners profile exactly.
I'm sure there are some decent ones out there, but I don't know you.
No farewell in my book, just Good Riddance!

Should we deduce from this that celebs, pop stars and glamour models also use basic punctuation and grammar?Speedy1995 said:

I defy the most humble, modest, left-wing ego to hold its course when driving a FFRR V8 with Wagner blasting out of the ICE system. Cannot be done. They are ego machines. No one ever 'needed' a Range Rover.Badly parked, poorly driven, bombastic attitude, look at me status...
