Even Brockie had to have an RS500 in the end, but had all the Ford badges removed.

Here she is at the Siverstone classic this year

and if you fancy a rather special RS500, mine is now up for sale for a bit, so a shameless plug

That was this year?! Would love to have seen those two cars running together.

BITD, Johnson actually took his Sierras and displayed them, bonnets up and doors open at shopping centres in QLD, to prove he wasnt cheating with them. hehe

Lovely car Paul.

Agree, but what a noise from the V8, long live youtube so the world will know what they sound like in a few years time when we are all buzzing around in casio powered peds!
This every time. Quite sad to hear the V8 giving its all so heroically with no reward.

Yes DJR1 and the Brock Rouse were in the pits on display all weekend, and about 5 other original RS500 touring cars raced as well. The Brock car was at Ford Fair a few weeks later as well. Yours for £150k apparently

My uncle imported and raced one of Peter Brocks Holdens, quite successfully. He didnt pay ANYTHING like £250,000 for it though!

I was lucky enough to meet Peter Brock when he was competing at Targa Tasmania one year, he was just a nice ordinary bloke, at least until he came past you on a special stage, in the wet half way up a mountain. Then you realised he was in the same league as people like Walter Röhrl.

That's a fantastic homage, especially the wheels.

I recall when I was young, my "modifier" uncle had a Capri with those fins running along the wings to "channel the airflow up and over the car to push it into the ground" .... as a primary school lad, they were the coolest addition to any car, and I made some recreations from platicine for my RC car cloud9
Very 80s Irmscher all that kit.

I remember looking at the catalogues in Steve Thompson at Lichfield

Ah, haven't been for the last year or two. Sorry to have missed that line up. The DJR 17 car is a pretty regular fixture, as is the TWR jag. Not seen the Moffat/Bond(?) Flacon there before though, or that VC 05 Commodore. Seen the Perkins VR/VS before though.
Nice selection, that.

Much about the one for sale doesn't ring true to me. The engine doesn't look like the twin throttle body homologated one. The dash looks very non VN/VP. The front lights and body kit look more VP than VN, although I'll concede that the cars were uprated while running at the time. It appears to be rolling on 16" HSV road wheels from the VN era (SV3800). The Group A brakes wouldn't fit under them. I smell a rat. Or a significantly modified car from when it ran professionally.
