Bringing back an old thread, I hadn't realised that Toyota still sell a proper workhorse Land Cruiser in African, Asian and Australian markets with the 70 series.
Front and rear locking diffs and a 4.5 V8 diesel..
A friend of mine needs a truck to carry stuff in, bounce over building sites and tow 3,500kg in the process. He bought a nearly new 110 Defender, but it was lousy, so they gave hime a good deal on a new one, which is marginally better. He needs one of these. Front and rear locking diffs and a 4.5 V8 diesel..

Doesnt look right without 30 "freedom fighters" hanging off it all with an ak47Front and rear locking diffs and a 4.5 V8 diesel..

Land rover have really screwed up in this respect IMO.Why won't they offer locking diff's from he factory?
Why wont they offer a range of engines?
Why wont they fix the oil leaks?
Why won't they increase the strength of the drive-train?
Why won't they actually invest in the product which gives the brand any credibility?
The stupidity astounds me

Peugeot 106 rallye 16v would be nice.
Noooo, the 16v version that was sold on the continent wasn't a true Rallye. It had aircon, PAS and none of the stripped back interior of the UK one. Some of them even had Raptor alloys instead of steels. It was more of a GTi with cloth. Of course, Rallyes should really be 8v. It's not about it being fast, it's about the low weight and great suspension setup and being massively fun!Paraicj said:
Is it just me or does that look a lot like an MG SV from the back? Quite like it.Paul O said:
My choice would be the Opel GT (aka Saturn Sky). Obviously the cost of making it RHD outweighed what they would have made from the few sales Also, as I found out having a nose around one at Nurburg, they practically have no boot whatsoever. It makes the S2000 look spacious!I always wanted to keep witht he 2.0 Litre turbo of the impreza, which is why i wish they had sold this in the UK

So what, this slots in sommewhere between the Impreza, Legacy, Forester and Outback? http://tsikot.com/forums/subaru-cars-talk-124/2012...
I wish they'd stop with all the CVT and auto nonsense in the Legacy and do a proper sleeper version. I don't think the B4 was ever officially imported to the UK. Why is it on some cars they offer a 2.0 turbo or a 2.5 N/A? It's like, you can have this one which is kinda fast, or this one which is kinda fast but slightly different.
I'm not sure they even offer a turbo Legacy in the UK at the moment (Well, unless you count the diseasel )

I have an unhealthy obsession with the Chevy Suburban/Tahoe. They are massive, drink fuel like nobodies business and not particularly well built, but I want one, a proper right hand drive one (though I believe they are converted and sold RHD in Aus).
One of the very few American cars that I like.DKL said:
All the 4wd versions of 3, 5 BMWs and Alpinas too. A 4wd 335i touring would be great or even better a B3 touring 4wd.
Someone mentioned an M3 touring - did they make those for any market?
The xDrive 3's are coming here. You can already buy the 320i xDrive, and the rumourmill has it the 320d's next.Someone mentioned an M3 touring - did they make those for any market?

That was available over here on special order for a very short time, IIRC known as the Golf Synchro.Apparently they sold 12!
It had standard bodywork and suspension, unlike the Cross-Country, and 1.8 petrol engine.

Isn't the Defender as good as dead? Doesn't male much sense to invest in a product that won't be around much longer. Why won't they offer locking diff's from he factory?
