It appears that 22" wheels will be on the options list for the first time.
A big two fingered salute to Overfinch and Kahn from Gerry McGovern...
It's a shame that's all Overfinch seem to do these days. Bring back the understated powerful days of the 580S and previous models, instead of tasteless bodykits and huge wheels!A big two fingered salute to Overfinch and Kahn from Gerry McGovern...
Love the new car, the front took a few days to get used to, but I really do love it, and if it only takes a few days to grow on you, it can't be bad at all!
superb engineering and supremely competent, however also supremely questionable visual appeal nowadays...designed for Bling obsessed Footballer TOWIE types,..and as for those melting lights?!.. So try hard, I saw a bland Eurobox this week with the same style lights ( it was so uninspiring I didn't even bother checking what it was)..
..may grow to like it in standard fettle, but (even if I could afford to) don't reckon I would swap my 2008 model for the new one

Hold on, does the fact that the monocoque is lighter than an Audi/ BMW/ whatever mean anything?
It's just a monocoque, right? Once they hang on an engine and wheels etc. the thing will still be pretty heavy. Unless I am mistaken. Could someone please enlighten me.
I've read that it's about 400kg lighter than the out going FFRR so I think that puts it about 2.2 tonnes? It's just a monocoque, right? Once they hang on an engine and wheels etc. the thing will still be pretty heavy. Unless I am mistaken. Could someone please enlighten me.
Basically this article is saying that Adele's skeleton is lighter than Simon cowell. Pretty irrelevant comparison IMO.
I do applaud the weight saving though. The more economical and dynamic the better. I'd like one!
Seriously? Does anyone at JLR just think we will swallow this frankly b*lls**t?
So lets get this clear, it has a higher Vmax because it has less mass? Probably also explains why JLR products consistently fail to meet the standards set by their german counterparts.
Also, pray tell on what set of tyres this 180mph was set? (Hint, take a look at the Vmax of the current RR and RRS, and their tyre rating)
I'm hopeful that the new platform and engines will be able to close the gap in the germans, but hyperbole like this isn't going to help anyone................

What German 4x4 actually comes anywhere close to a range rover for overall ability on and OFF road?
None that I can think of? So JLR don't need to close a gap that is already wide open IMO
Fantastic car and I simply cannot wait until they are a few years old, it's a car I WILL own in TDv8 guise

I have a question following on from the V6 Turbodiesel being a Range Rover first. Why did the L322 stick with the 2.9-litre BMW Inline-6 and never swallow the Discovery 3/Range Rover Sports V6 2.7 or the later 4s 3.0 in TDV6 or SDV6 form given that even the older 2.7 was both torquier and more powerful than the I6 to begin with..?
