A perfect example of how the word "design" is abused when what's meant is "styling" rolleyes

I cringed to the point where I had to turn it off when playing the sound to the public and getting replies like "formula 1" about a car that knows nothing but travelling in straight lines! :|

Why are they so fixated on sound, why would it sound any different to the RS5 Coupe?

Even more confused as to why they left in the woman who wondered if it was some sort of moped, great advertising there! smile

They should have shown the footage of the helicopter just keeping up with the rs5 on the m6 , they may shift a few more cars with that as the video.

I know the one in the footage was a tintop btw.

Whoever approved the final edit of the video should be assessed.

They are trying to big up the sound of the car the whole way through the video, so why leave the 'moped or something?' comment in there? Our car sounds fantastic, but it might also sound like a 50cc moped.

Also, when the presenter says 'It's actually the sound of a new Audi' the other guy says 'Right, ok, well it's very impressive' but his face says 'I literally don't give a $#¥T'.

I'm surprised he then didn't add "ah, so it's one of the new Audi owned Ducati mopeds?"

It needs a more deeper bass sound, as a V8 it sounds too high pitched and manufactured as if someone (who has never owned a V8) in R&D created it in a PC music application and programmed the ECU and designed the exhaust to match it. Not just this one but a lot of them these days, maybe it's all part of the EU regs for emissions that causes it, maybe not.

More to do with cam profile and crank angle I'd have thought - a high revving V8 is obviously going to sound raspier than a Yank rumbler with a 5500rpm redline.

RS4 Avant = extremely cool. RS5 convertible = not. Inexplicable, but incontrovertibly true.
+1

For some reason I find the car utterly cynical and the video really quite fitting.

It doesn't even sound that good to me, needs a proper exhaust on there. Every part of that video is appaling, I don't know where to start, so I wont. yuck

Enjoyed this video much more than I thought I would, but only because it encapsulates perfectly the exact reason I dislike the Audi brand and the majority of its products....

Audi have gone from producing a well engineered rally bred cars to the ulitmate in tacky.

I did not think it sounded that nice. A very weak V8 soundtrack imho.
