Strange none of the people "listening" to the car thought it might perhaps be one of the Multiple LeMans Winning Audi endurance racecars.
Why?

Shouldn't a convertible rather be unveiled in a high street surrounding than a race track?

I mean, this will be roof down on a one digit quantity of days during the year; namely when it's dry, sunny and between 25°C and 28°C. The engine sound is only important to attract attention from pedestrians.

Why pay extra for heavy- and wobblyness when you want to track a car? confused

Audi seem to have the ability to make things that the masses love these days but make petrol heads die a little inside. I loved my RS4, it was flawed of course but compared to virtually every other Audi I've owned/driven, miles ahead. I hoped it was a start, a start when Audi finally started to make cars that went and drove as well as they looked, but sadly, bar the R8 this really hasn't been the case.

Shame really.

The first ten seconds of the video were the best for me then I realised I had the sound switched off on my iPad, the rest of the video was chod.

Where is the great man of Norfolk digital radio, and such classic promo vids as the unforgetable Hamiltons Water Breaks; Alan Partridge! I kept wanting the guy in the video to go ArrrHaaaaaaaaa, when they pulled the cover off.

Truly terrible...... though I have seen a version over here in Germania where they don't have 5 or 6 random London punters showing little or no interest in the moped!
I've heard it in the flesh and it is pretty good though perhaps a little errr created shall we say, speakers on a computer never convey how good an exhaust is.
But geek alert on the tail pipe trim thing.....
One of the biggest complaints from car buyers (not enthusiasts) is that the exhuast don't sit in the middle of the aperture. So this is any easy way round that. And even bigger geek alert as the turbos on this engine are mounted in the V the exhaust gets really really hot and will probably expand 10-15mm which if the trim were attached to the pipe it would end up sticking out 10-15mm past the design position. Which looks a bit w**k and also is a liability with Mr brand new RS5 Cab burning his Hugo Boss trousers on it!
I shall go back to watching star trek now!

It's a NA V8, no turbos smile
