Have you ever had a perfect garage?
Discussion
Just thinking around this thread where Harry Flashman ends up with a Defender to complete his garage along side and Aero 8 and a Caterham.
Clearly this isn't a money no object garage, and plenty of people would consider the Morgan too ugly for words but it perfectly suits his needs so it is, IMO, a perfect garage.
I've been in this fortunate position a few times over a succession of car changes. The pinnacle being a supercharged MG ZTT V8, a race Caterham and a VW T4 campervan, having had a mk1 MR2 alongside a Suzuki Bandit when i lived in a rental flat with no garage and later a classic Impreza Turbo estate and a Caterham.
I've now moved to the sticks and chopped the lot in for a ten year old Discovery It's good in its way, but definitely a massive compromise.

Hah! The Morgan does divide opinion when folks see photos - but I've only had an adverse reaction to it in the metal once - drunk chap at Ascot races yelled out "that is the most tw@ttish vehicle imaginable". He may have had a point.
My garage is fantastic, and I am very lucky - 3 cars I have always wanted to own. Definitely others to add though - the main issue is space, now. And I still hanker after something Italian and mid-engined; but that will have to wait until I leave London, I think.
I do have a vehicle for almost every imaginable need - the glaring omission being something that will cruise happily with zero effort for absolutely ages: all of my vehicles require effort and concentration to drive. Lady Flash is thinking of getting herself a Mini Cooper S Works - I'm guessing that will do, and I shall appropriate it whenever I have to do boring journeys (which is very rarely, to be fair)!
My perfect garage would then require something modern to go with all of the anachronisms I drive: something brisk, efficient, loaded with toys, comfortable and low maintenance. 535d estate or something. But as I don't have children, that sort of thing can wait.

My garage is a decent mix of Porsche 993 for fun and Merc C220 cdi estate for everything else and the missus loves her Mito but no matter how good your set up is you're always hankering after something else. I'm sure we'd be even happier if a 997 GT3, C63 and Aston Vantage Virage where at hand.

That's the point of the thread, given more money and space (and fewer kids ) most garages could be improved on, but this is about real life rather than dreams.Pretty happy with my current line up It'd take a serious cash injection to improve on it (for me)
Fiesta Diesel (dull everyday hack)
Jag XJ8 - ultra reliable wafty barge, with a V8
Jensen Interceptor Convertible - half owned with Dad, simply gorgeous, big 7.2 V8, ideal for the Summer
Triumph Stag - always wanted one, so recently added one to the line up - yes, with its original 3.0 V8
Given a decent cash injection I'd swap the XJ8 for a newer 2005/6 XJR, or with a bigger cash injection (100k) it'd be a new XKR-S Convertible, plus I'd lavish some cash upon the Stag.

Best garage line up I have had so far is
2x Mk4 Toyota Supra's (one non turbo the other twin turbo) can't count that as I was selling the non turbo.
Best long term one was the Tuscan along side a 1991 Mk2 Golf. Sadly the golf was a non runner after about a week and turned into a lemon ran out of space so had to go.

I am very happy with my Garage, I have no urge or desire for any other cars in my Financial reach and the Building it's self has all the tools and equipment to keep me tinkering away as much as i need.
