RE: Time for Tea: Ferrari 355 noise factory

My submission for favourite engine sound is the fabulous Busso engine in the Alfa 147 and 156 GTAs...

Love Ferrari V8's

Slightly o/t but Bike magazine gave away a CD on the cover a few years ago with the sounds of an exclectic collection of bikes, both static and fly-by.
It was interesting to work out what you liked the sound of and then see what it was - home classics and pretty humdrum machinery (TDM900) scored very well.
I wonder which non-exotic cars would sound good if you didn't know what they were?

Another (terribly biased) vote for the M3 CSL here Have never heard an engine sound that can change so much over its rev-range

The flat plane crank Ferraris always sound like chainsaws to me - but the one in the video did sound as good as any I've heard. But few if any road cars sound that good- if you want noise you need racers.Try Matra MS120, Ferrari 512 and - a personal favourite the Larousse Lamborghini GP car of early 90s. Or a smallblock Chevy in race tune.
The 355 definately sounds nice, but the ultimate sound for me has to be the F50
