I have a C43 AMG Estate. What a fantastic car, every journey is special with that V8 rumble and lack of any significant depreciation..

Just bought a C32 off the back of this thread.

It is very, very fast. I gave mine a boot-full at about...er...some speed in the wet and it lit the tyres up. In a straight line! And the tyres are decent ones too!

Mine isn't too rusty yet, but there are bits that will need doing to make it tip top. Also, my IC pump failed on the drive home from buying it but it was cheap and easy to replace.

I need to swap out the rad to ward off glycerol problems but in theory at least once that is done the car should be pretty tough mechanically.

Should be (touches wood).

Well done PH! Good spot on this one!

I saw an E55k on eBay last night for 6 bags. However, having just been financially ruined by the very same car that cost me 10k, I wouldn't even touch it if it were 2k.

As for this C32, I wouldn't add it to my fleet if you paid me.

Luke.

Can you tell I'm still a little sore? tongue out

At least the C32 doesn't have SBC brakes (I don't think?), so the list of 1001 things to screw up your AMG can be reduced to just 1000.

Thought i would update this at my two year ownership point.

Covered somewhere in the vicinity of 13k miles and has been on full family duty with frequent short trip nursery runs.

Faults:

Heated seat base does not work
Passenger side child seat detector failed.
Some slightly rusty chips on the bonnet
small bubble on the tailgate
Rear wiper is a bit st

Work done:

Basic service (plugs, filters, oil) Cir £200
Set of front discs, genuine from merc £200
Seat occupancy emulator £7 (fix occupancy sensor)
Gearbox fluid and filter change £50
Pair of tyres £220
Tin of mobil jet oil £35
V belt £25

It still very much does the business, though on short runs the fuel economy is really pretty poor. If your considering a quick estate I would still recommend one based on my experience.
