Indeed, 1660kg! Sod the e-drive and shed the weight. Why make a hybrid supercar when nobody else is doing so (bar Ferrari with the new Enzo..) Love everything else but cannot overlook the weight and apologetic hybrid gimmickery...

Oh, and dump the big Iphone centre console as well...

Looks fantastic but at 1660kg what's the point offering an option to save 35kg?!?

Imagine how good this could have been with a Turbo V8, a manual box and weighing half a ton less.

There's really nothing about this car I don't like. In the real world it's absolutely perfect.

I'd straddle the bonnet and dry hump that £50k paintwork too!

So the same as a Murciélago with an extra 200hp. Should be brisk!

Nice car, I wonder what the weight and performance stats would be with the hybrid bits taken off.

With options like a 50k paintjob, I think it's very much a case of "if you have to ask...".

New Mclaren is a hybrid too. As will be the Enzo replacement.

The relatively high weight probably means that they have fitted sufficiently large capacity batteries to ensure that this car is real world usable without a stop every 5 mins to plug into the nearest coal / gas / nuclear power station. They could have had a lower headline weight / performance figure, but at the expense of a rubbish hybrid with no endurance.

Well done Porsche. Trust them to do it right.

Can't wait for the road and track tests.

This is a beautiful example of hat the guys and girls at Porsche can acheive if they dig deep ,should reflect on all the models really

Well the current Porsche dash looks like one of these. With more buttons than a 90's Panasonic Hi-fi so this is their way of moving viz ze times jah?

But do they stick with the Halfords spec dash pod for the sportscrono pack?

Probably for the same reason Dr. Porsche decided to build a rear-engined sports car when nobody else was doing so wink

If I was going to go green (which I don't plan to), and had a lot more money (which I don't imagine happening) then I would definitely be up for one of these.

one of the conumdrums of Porsche ownership. Choose the sports pack you get this even if you don't want it. No clock - no other bits

I was at the Nurburgring Gran Turismo Evo event on Monday and Tuesday when this car was officially unveiled to the world. They asked two people from the 180 or so drivers and passengers present unveil it. One of them was my 12 year old son who I had managed to get special permission to take part in the event (needed special seat fitted to my car). Right now he is back at school bragging to his mates about it. The car does look amazing though. Earlier that day we got driven round the track by Sabine Schmitz! There were some amazing cars on the track. I am putting up some photos of the two days here later today (after 7pm) The pic on here is very poor quality as I took it with an iPhone in very bad light. Much better ones on the website. www.sxl1.com/evo.htm [url|http://thumbsnap.com/cctOYsTV[/url]
