RE: ABT Audi A1 quattro
Discussion
If you want a compact practical car which has all wheel drive for the winter, there is very little choice. This is why I have the original S3. I happen to love the looks and subtle flared arches on mine.
This A1 also appeals to me, but not at the price. Maybe one day when they are a few years older and cheaper. I prefer this A1 to the more bland looking modern S3 variants.

'ABT says its car doesn't incur any additional penalties in terms of fuel economy and emissions.'
So you can get nearly 20% more power without using more fuel?
Presumably only if you don't actually use the extra power..
Audi biased marketing oiks can spout any old bks and the typical Audi buyer will just believe it all, hook, line and sinker. Remember, these same buyers would and do pay an extra £10,000 for a sticker set and then have the audacity to argue the car is better. So you can get nearly 20% more power without using more fuel?

Not much of a 0 - 60 time gain.
Thats not too far away from the later Turbo 2000 Imprezas. Think they were maybe 0.3 to 0.4 seconds slower to 60, but with 87bhp less. Do these weigh significantly more than circa 1300kgs? I mean of course the audi uses much softer textured plastics but still... 300bhp and 4x4 pitches this against serious driving machines, and i'm being kind by quoting the 'lowest headliner' of the group of cars that immediately spring to mind. yea I was just thinking that, how is it only that fast for such a small car with 300bhp and 4 wheel drive? It must be a bit of a tank!Edited by KM666 on Saturday 22 September 23:06

That would imply that Audi would want to see their cars rallying.. Clearly they don't and don't like the association overly since they don't support the owners of their old name making cars.
When was their last official rally entry 1989 or something, certainly not in WRC since 1985.
Not sure. A few people campaigned the S2 quattro in the early '90s so it must have been homologated for Group A even if it didn't have factory backing. When was their last official rally entry 1989 or something, certainly not in WRC since 1985.
