I guess it'll be interesting to see where it finishes on this list:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nürburgr...

No entry for the MP4-12C that I could spot - only the SLR McLaren.

You mean Andy Wallace, and you mean 240mph, presumably.

Fantastic looking thing - be terrified to drive it down Britain's pot-hole infested streets with all that aero though!!

To be completely honest I don't like the design at all. Looks too much like a Koeniggsegg Agera.

Its not like I'll ever get the chance to buy one though lol

So much want it hurts.

To those that say the team at Mclaren don't design cars with passion I say utter bks. This looks (subjective, I know) su-frigging-perb.

I look forward to the P1 setting the benchmark once again, just like the F1 did all those years ago.

I did indeed. Andy Green's car goes a little bit faster than that!

Oh yes, that's more like it. The white one looks stunning in my opinion and all are an improvement upon the orange car. The looks of this car a clearly "Marmite" judged from replies here. Better looking than recent offerings from Ferrari that's for sure..

Kind of ironic comparison, this will probably have more downforce than any car made to date, while the Miura would lift at speed. smile

The slot in the hollow of the door channeling air to the rear looks super neat imo

Stunning, one in pearlescent black please.

Agreed, on the P1 app it appears you can follow the air flows and I'm sure this air then exits from under the rear valence.

Such a stunning car, not only from a looks perspective but also an engineering one. Can't wait for more info as and when it comes out.

If this is a concept, will there be changes to the exterior, perhaps those spaceship-like taillights? I hate seeing beautiful concept cars compromised down the line by road regs.

I like it the more times I visit the pictures. The unveil video shows it off nicely. Can't wait to see how the car in the metal and read some reviews.

Do the tyres have 'McLaren' and the boomerang logo on them? Nice touch, presumably for show biggrin

the McLaren F1 prototype test car (XP3 chassis I think, in hands of Mika Hakkinen if I remember well) did 7.11 on the Ring some 20 years ago...I read that in an old magazine but it was probably done on slicks..the biggest problem of F1 is that McLaren didn't allow any aftermarket tires (and tire technology advanced A LOT in last 20 years) and brakes&suspension were set for a more comfy ride..actually people who compared F1&Veyron say that F1 is a bit comfier and even quieter, at least on sane rpms

The rumour is that it was an F1 LM, not a vanilla F1. It could easily have been on slicks too.
