Well this has helped me in my thoughts / choices on an entertaining dog carrier / commuter / allrounder, now to find a tourer in good health!

Re BMW straight six engine charms, well into restoring a 1992 M5, has the 3.8 engine with 340bhp or so, well worth the pain/aggro/cost for last of the handbuilts.

Snap! (but a 323i)

Just bought it... All seems OK? The heater fan doesn't work though, anyone got any experience with this?
Yes. You'll find it's probably a faulty 'hedgehog' resistor. The best way to describe it is as a coke bottle shape with rounded metal spikes on it. It slots in at the back of the centre console.

It was one of the first things I had to replace on my 323i coupe when I first bought it eight years ago. Sold her last week though :-( She will be missed.

Joined me less than a week ago, mine did..!

Best car-related choice I ever made, and for £750 I wasn't arguing... run out 1999 model Touring, parking sensors, dual zone climate, trip computer (working), ASC (not working, even better!)... 163,000 miles and it feels tighter than my Skoda did at 4 years younger and 30,000 miles younger.

Anyhoo...

As we're at it, not the best pic but been enjoying her too much to stop and take snaps!

The only thing I crave for is an LSD, that and a decent soundstage biggrin. Decent set of rubber and a suspension refresh utterly transformed it too, highly reccomended.

In that video I'm suprised how much faster the Clio appears on acceleration, the 328 driving is a far better standard (hitting apexes), I suspect Dale has more experience of the track as there is a lot less 'line adjustment'... but it makes it balanced and a more interesting piece of fun to watch!

I'd buck the trend and say that I can't stand the look of e36s. I'd have an e30 all day mind.

Either way, great choice by the looks of it and great lap. Pound for pound the fastest thing round the 'burg right now?

My old one, had 3 in the end but this was the quickest. It was bog standard with no air con or any other extras so could have explained why. 4 guys bought it to thrash round the Ring, asked for some piccies but never received any.
