No. Looks to me like it's got the BMW Mtech bobykit and factory option Sports Recaro seats and an Alpina s/wheel.

If you want an definitive answer phone Styners Nottingham with the VIN.

Bernie and Mario might be interested in that although it might just be too tidy.

Can't make up mind whether to repair or not. It needs a pair of sills, a front crossmember a pair of wings, looked into getting the parts. Not too much of a problem, the jacking points are a bit ropey but noting too bad. It has an expensive diff, and rare recaros and steering wheel, but short of it being a genuine Alpina I dont see much hope for the car. We did get it running fired straight up with some Start ya bd down its throat.

If not you could offer it out on here. That is something I would love to restore, unfortunately I don't have the premises to do the work required.

It's just a 528 with a miture of M-Tec bits and an Alpina steering wheel.

I'd shudder to think how bad the tin worm is when you probe deep on the car. It has some nice bits so certainly worth stripping and parting out at the least.

E28's are very thin on the ground so it would be a decent example to restore if you were so inclined - even though the demand isn't that strong for the 28 variant.

What does the "A" relate to on the sticker on B pillar?

I was sure this was a BMW 528i with added bits but some people at work wont take that for an answer.

Still unsure what to do, we were going to fix the car, but my boss who does all the welding and painting has been ordered to take it easy. Which doesn't go hand in hand with running your own business, although this was more a bit of fun on the side than a money spinner.

If you make a good enough offer you are welcome to it. We have already had an offer for it for parts. We are a breakers but would much prefer to see it fixed.

I have been told the LSD/ rear axle, Recaros and steering wheel alone would fetch a grand.

And it is a BMW 528i 1985 - that has been confirmed by Alpina themselves. Thanks for the help and suggestions everyone.
