Epic fail!

Why have a yank tank with anything other than a V8?
Are you really that stupid? eek

The yanks amaze the world by getting relatively little power from high capacities and the V6's are the cream of the crop for underachieving.
Yet managaing more than the Rover V8 in a Landy... confused

Looks silly on our roads, which are too small for a car this size and you will not get 20mpg on LPG in one of these.

Awful.
Ok I see it's idiot dumb ass Friday on PistonHeads then.

FFS these are smaller then a Disco1 or Range Rover. They are not Yank tanks, they are SUV's with some good 4x4 ability, high spec and a cheap retail price.

Not a big fan of trucks. For the money I'd get a Hilux though if I were looking at shed money. Much better proposition all round, and still pretty rare on the roads.

I had a funny feeling you'd have strong feelings for this motor!

Must admit £900 buys very little in the large 4x4 market - a rotten Disco, Trooper with injector problems or a Pajero with impending oil pump failure is basically your choice, so in context it may not be a bad buy

Great stuff - I loved my old US Ranger with its vulgar details, cheap, brash and fun within its limits - much better than walking (or some jelly mould Audi/BMW/Honda). Cheap enough to paint camo', fit a bull bar and try and pretend it's a real "Yank tank" and that Bishop's Stortford is the Mojave... and it probably has a stereo, a heater and whatever else you need to sit in traffic whilst commuting...

Actually no. If someone posted stupid false comments about a Jap truck or a French hatch I'd defend it just as much. Posting rubbish like "it's too big for UK roads" really shows someone has no clue at all.

Hmmm I don't know about this one... I kinda like it for tip / dog duties.

At this price who cares about the BHP, MPG etc.. its all about comfort and capability, which has already been stated on this thread.

Give the poor sucker a chance... beats having another Merc or E38 as a SOTW

300, don't make this thread your usual US car debate please. Remember that people are allowed to have a different view to you with regards to US cars, and a long answer to all who disagree just takes the thread off-track.

Also, there's no need for comments like your opening line...

Thanks

To be fair 300, the Bronco is very cool looking thing. The blazer, to me at least, has similar appeal to an Espace in looks and ability...not what the vast majority on here would consider worthy of PHs attention. The Blazer is different yes but uninteresting at the same time.

Keep in mind that people are entitled to their opinion, you are also entitled to defend your opinion but you must realise that you are against the grain quite often...you dont make life easy for yourself sometimes.

Calm down..

They may technically be smaller than a RR.. BUT, they don't look it and imo, like most Amreican cars, they look a bit sill and out of place on our smaller roads.

But, hey it's only an opinion, so why don't you relax.. rather than name call?

The Vortec V6, didn't they use that in the GMC Syclone? albeit twin-turbo'd and uprated but the same basic engine.

The Blazer isn't great looking, not amazingly capable off road or particularly comfortable but it's shed money, disposable motoring. I'd take a punt on it if I needed something that size and didn't really care what mileage it gets from a tank, then weigh it in when it's had enough.
