Still registered as a 1.6

£34,000 (reduced from £38,000 already) is a lot to lose if the donor parts turn out to be stolen.
That's alot of money for a replica

Attention to detail? Pretty sure the 3 door Cosworths didn't come with keep fit windows.

Whoever spends £10k buying this RX-7 with its Volvo five-pot may want to ensure they get enough paperwork for the engine to register the swap with the DVLA. Could tell 'em it's now blue at the same time.

Well, after somehow resolving the fact that the engine's too tall to fit under the bonnet.

(To be fair, this car's not on the road and is sold as a project, I'm sure it's all above board but it would be worth any potential purchaser being aware it still needs registering).

A ‘defender’ from 1970. With a coil sprung chassis, a 200 TDi and defender front end fitted. Registration is about the only thing left from the original series 2a, which comes back as a petrol on the online checker. All this to save the cost of tax and an MoT? Madness. Or maybe just maybe it’s a stolen 90 with a series ID

Of course the owner ‘knows nothing about it’ as per first line in the advert. hehe

And clearly not enough attention to detail to register it with the right engine.

Leaving the 'questionable' legality of this to one side I can see that being a bundle of (quite possibly lethal) laughs

One courtesy of a PH article - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Twin V6 engined Citroen C2 with what appears to be a few problems with the build that need to be fixed - oh and the fact it's up to the new buyer to convince the DVLA to update the logbook to how it currently stands from the 1.1 LX model that it was built out of originally / still registered as.

This "series 1" Land Rover.

I was actually interested in the specifics of how he got the TD5 setup integrated into the series chassis, but as well as a coil-sprung model's engine and gearbox, it's a coiler chassis... and suspension... and axles... and steering...

Even has the cheek to say it’s a ‘modified 107” chassis’ when asked. rolleyes

Old Defenders must be right up there with old Escorts and Minis as models least likely to match their V5.
