God, that's a shock. SUCH a nice bloke, and after all he'd been through succumbing to bloody gastric cancer.

That 007 ball really was an epic evening, and I remember it especially since it was that evening I finally turned into an old fart. All but one of my passengers were women, in ball gowns and various stages of rattedness. Rather than thinking 'oi oi things are looking up', all I could think of was 'please don't be sick on my alcantara'..

It's good that people can remember him and smile.

Don't know if you'd made the connection but you were also involved via a certain White A6 Avant 4.2 V8 in hindsight we should have hung onto that as well, it would have made a great bloodcar

Thanks to all who have donated so far, it really will be put to great use.

What a true gent. Thoughts to his wife and children, 42 is a terrible age to go. RIP

I didn't have the honour of meeting Ali B but do have the privilege of SERV'ing with Mel and the Busa.

As a SERV volunteer, I thank you all for your contributions toward this charity service I have so much time for.

Much appreciated!

The work goes on evey night often unseen and unnoticed under the cover of darkness, this picture was taken within the last half hour at a changeover point at some services in South London every person in the photo (and the one that took it) is on a live job!

Feels like this thread should be kept up top. Come on PHers, dig deep for a fantastic cause.

And it's not only the people, the Ali B Memorial Bike was out earlier this week. smile

Good afternoon, last night we had @Busa_Bloodbike taking platelets to Maidstone, then taking samples onwards to Tunbridge Wells at Pembury
Wouldn't it be great to have a PH Bloodbike work alongside on the fleet? Dig deep, please.

The one behind the camera was me. I wasn't even on normal duty, but there was a need for an urgent 2 way run of samples out of Maidstone, and platelets going back.

There are also 7 volunteers out there every night of the year and 24 hours at weekends and Bank Holidays, just in Kent alone!

Sticks get ignored.

Best to keep it "bumped" to the top.

If any of you needed any further proof of the good these bikes do then try the following heartbreaking but beautifully written article we will never know for sure if it was a SERV bike that helped keep that young man with his family a bit longer but the one thing we do know is that it is a SERV supplied hospital and they used a product that is delivered several time a week.

clap £670 so far - brilliant start. Thanks to all who have donated.

The target is to raise £10,000 which will buy and run a "PH Bloodrunner" bike for three years.

I believe that the BTaP charity raffle is in aid of Cancer Research, a more than worthy cause for us to support. thumbup

If there continues to be interest and support for the PH Bloodbike then I'm sure the Ali B bike and guys from SERV will be happy to come to PH events to show more about what they do. smile

I know it usually does, hence the question.

Big fan of CR and the work they do, as you know.

We have traditionally supported CR at BTaP. No plans to change that this year, hence this charity story (which we don't normally do as you know).

The bike will however be at next weeks Sunday Service along with a couple of its "friends" I don't know yet if we'll actually be fundraising as permission is in the hands of MB.

I'm sure you know I'm the last person to object about money going to CR!
