I normally love Chris's films but is it just me or was this one a bit, well, amateurish? The sound quality was poor, the editing seemed very jerky and what was with all the focus to out-of-focus and vice versa stuff at the start all about?
Great car though and even more so when you consider that with this being only Mclaren's second road car, they are being spoken about in the same vein as Ferrari with their 458. Incredible stuff. I'd have the Mclaren, a great British success story. I love the 458 too though!

After I shot my home video at Ascari, I drove a Spider back down the Rondaroad into Malaga
I'm guessing they couldn't get the whole team there for a polished video for whatever reason. Unless Chris is talking about a different home video...Left completely cold by that. Sorry, not because of your efforts Chris...just the Car.
From an aesthetic perspective, it looks like a Boxster rival. If you take into account actual real-world usability and the absolutely essential modern day issue of VFM, the 12C just does NOT in anyway cut it.
Have I driven one? No. Will it be 4 x better than a new Boxster S? No it absolutely will not.My stupid man-maths probably will not be popular but I'm struggling to grasp the point...unless it's a big cock competition with Maranello.........

If I had that sort of cash though (even though this might be more hard core) I'd take the 458 Italia.
I'll keep dreaming
Thats the issue. I think most would. I've heard a few people say "Oh I'd love a 458Italia" never heard "Oh I'd love a MP4-12C"...I'll keep dreaming
I'd rather have a 12c.
Especially in met' black, with silver wheels, red calipers; black cabin, red stitching, Alcantara option and - because every tt with a Corsa etc and a roll of real carbonfibre wrap has devalued the 'black weave' - I'll have ally trim
It would have been good to see the road footage from Ronda
Also it would be great to see an in car fast clean lap to see how composed the car is, rather than the usual drift stuff, somehow drifting just doesn't suit cars of this ilk, they are more about precision and poise in my book.

Chris I like your videos, but as the others have said you need to improve the audio aspect of your videos. While I am sure there are guys who know alot more about this than I do I think you need to invest in a 'dead cat' to reduce wind noise. I know you guys don't want to stretch to a spotty teenager holding a mic...
So as an idea for the future maybe you should go to EA or Polyphony Digital who did the GrandTurismo games on Playstation or another similar game company. There are some tricks that they use that could help you translate what you experience effectivly to the chumps at home.

Chris's best vids are shot and edited by Neil Carey. This was all Chris's own work, "Shot and Edited by Chris Harris, Additional Camera by Chris Harris."Let's hope Neil was just on holiday.

If you prefer a roof over your head then why would you rather buy the coupe over the convertible and keep the roof up?
If the differences between the way they drive are imperceptible, unless there is a LOT of wind noise, then the convertible should be the default choice because you always have the option to lower it rather than not having the option at all.
Unless preferring a roof over your head is a load of BS and you just prefer the lines of the coupe. Don't worry, you are allowed to say that.

If this falls short on VFM and usability in the real world for you, then any super car fails too including a 458, right? From an aesthetic perspective, it looks like a Boxster rival. Yes to some degree although the passion that's exhibited in a 458's styling and aural drama somewhat mitigates the lack of relative VFM and practicality. I saw both parked up at Monza last weekend and there's just no contest. The fact that the 458 is still widely regarded as the better steer is another reason to NOT want an MP4 With over 1500 12C's sold already in just over a year any arguments about whether the 12C is a desirable car or not are now I think mute. And with the introduction of the spyder that number will just get better and better. McLaren I think have played this almost perfectly. They have produced a genuine alternative to the 458 for those who just don’t want the baggage that comes with Ferrari ownership.
