I have driven my Turbo around Spa shortly after buying it, the 2 trackdays we did were both in the rain and the car was awesome,The 3.3 is very tunable and just by fitting the 964 n/a cams and .9 bar boost they make 380/400 hp, it's the best car i have owned.

Driven it to Italy ,all the passes around Switzerland ect,it never missed a beat and ticks over at 100 mph (autobahn of course)

We raced one 2 years ago in the GT Cup at Spa against a number of 997 cup cars, Ferarri 430 GTc cars ect, i think there were around 25 cars on the grid and had a 3rd overall, so they can't handle that bad?

My old 3.3 with 42k miles.
Mint car but not impressive to drive sold to a Swedish (6 yrs ago) guy for a lot less then i'd get today, but hey i was happy at the time.

My old 930 89 5 speed.
Sold that last year for an impressive price.
Sounds like a classic case of some you win and some you lose....

Beautiful. Was Candy Apple Red a special order?

Despite the wheels being ‘non-period’ they suite it rather well IMHO

Didn't Steve Sutcliffe's attempt to buy and run one of these not end very well for his (or Haymarket's) bank account?

Cool car though.
Yes wasn't it a yellow one?

Jimbo
yes

Imported from Germany I believe, had to use two of his credit cards on one of the bills if I remember the story right.

I love this model Turbo, best looking of the lot for me.

The one he bought was costing him over 1k per month on bills on average ( although some of the work was unlikely to be repeated every year )

iconic and eye candy indeed - there is definately something about cars of this era..almost as if the Porsche briefly outpaced the constraints of legislation, health and safety etc in this car leaving the 965 sitting squarely at odds with the more PC direction other manufacturers were taking at the time - this incarnation of the turbo a proper 'bad boy' and more desirable for this reason alone..even before we get to the purity of its looks.. worthy pedestal aside -in my humble opinion the narrow bodied 964 C2 was still the best one to have/own in the real world...loved mine and still the most involving, raw and all-round enjoyable driving experience of any car I have since owned or driven...

There might have been a S made just for the American market from memory, which had a sort of 928 semi flatnose front. Wouldn't be surprising if it had the 3.6 motor.
There was an S, and S Flachbau (flatnose), both in europe.

Does anyone know where minty is these days? I seem to remember it selling as a catC/D write off then disappearing with rumours that someone was going to bring it bac to life?
