RE: Driven: Audi R8 facelift
Discussion
Struggling to understand some of the comments here...
for the money vs. performance wrapped up in a package that's a usable everyday reliable car, what's not to like?
realistically, where's the competition at that money?
the only thing I did not like about the old R8 was the auto-crap box, now that's gone can't really fault it, yes it's looks might not be your cup of tea, but that's about all you can slag it off about.

I must be the only person who hates these cars. Every time I see one its driven by an arrogant tosser (no offence to the nice people who own one, I am sure there are a few) who thinks he is in a Veyron. I often see one that some nob has had wrapped in chrome vinyl...
Does nothing at all for me. Give me a new 911 or an Aston any day.

Brilliant ride quality, I wasn`t blown away by the power and there wasn`t much in the way of exhaust note INSIDE the car to satisfy me, which is a shame because they can sound great OUTSIDE the car!
I can't understand why they didn't use the new engine from the RS5 - must be due to development cost tochange but surely ti would help them amortise the dev cost of the new unit, or maybe the volume would be too low to matter. The biggest issue these cars have is fuel consumption and the new unit is way more efficient. People buying new might not care though I guess.
