I have a GTR. Did I tell you I had a GTR. Well, the GTR got here OK this morning. I'm glad I bought the GTR now. Did I mention my GTR? I bought a GTR , you know.
I think we can see your problem here.
the GTR.... not just a GTR.

isn't having a better car than your boss quite an arbitrary situation to evaluate?!
Does he have a GTR?

I never realised. wink
I would've thought I mentioned it but just in case as you need to be sure these days....

I HAVE A GTR!!!one!!1!

wink

edit: I think we need to add to the powerfully built director meme now to : powerfully built company director with a goatee and definitely owns a GTR

What's it like.

Bit slow round the ring isn't it wink
The ring? If you mean the M25, yeah it's pretty slow. Curse the traffic! wink

Seriously though I've never done a proper track session but on the road it is quick enough for me! Quicker than my boss's car for sure wink

I don't know what car the claimant advisor drives down the job centre so I can't comment.
Think we have the same boss, I'm usually quite discrete about not letting them see which of 'my garage' I pop 'to work' in once a fortnight, but I'm claiming a win. wink

You would have cryed when I worked in Saudi Arabia, I had 18 year lads in my office with new bentley's, one had a new corvette another had a new BMW X6 the day it was released in the Middle East.

You would not believe the wealth some days.........

beer

I don't rub it in my bosses nose (or even colleagues' noses) that way. Pretty sure no sane person would no matter how big a petrolhead! (or how GTR the car!)

The Procurator Fiscal where I used back in the early 1980's drove an E21 320.

I (junior member of staff) turned up one day in my nearly new 323i. He was not amused biggrin

My boss drives a brand new Golf 1.6TDi Estate as a company car (he traded down) - whereas I have an Audi A3 Quattro with all the toys and a Porsche 911 for fun.

I don't think he gives a damn - but it comes down to simple economics - he has 3 kids and I have none! My cars cost significantly less than his 3 kids ...... biggrin

None of my direct managers have ever been in to cars. I've had sportier cars than my managers/colleagues, but never had the most expensive car of the lot. My current manager rides her bike to work. I can't say it would bother me either way tbh.

I loved the story about the security guard's Daimler though biggrin

Best result ever, you actually win, but your boss thinks he wins.

Reminds me of the film Revolver. Great film that.

Many moons ago my boss bought a Cavalier SRi (1991).

About the same time I had just put a deposit down on a 1992 Cavalier GSI (lower miles too).

He went absolutely mental when I turned up in it, screaming at me, Slagging me off.

He was taken aside by the MD and told to calm down. I received a verbal warning.

I was gobsmacked as I never opened my mouth during the entire ordeal.

I quit soon after.

No idea of my boss even has a car. Why do people care so much? Or is it a sales thing?

I was thinking that too.

I'd have a problem if he was saying "I have a GTR, everything else is st, its faster than a Corvette Z06 around the ring (a common misconception from GTR owners hehe)" but he's not. I see enthusiasm for a car that deserves enthusiasm.

One of my team got a Volvo V60 D5 SE LUX(215 BHP, 5 pot, 2.4 Twin Turbo)on Mini lease (3 month hire) instead of the Skoda Octavia Estate 1.6 Diesel SE Plus.

Ive just ordered my Skoda Octavia Estate 1.6 SE Plus, but now drive the Volvo as above biggrin
We swapped as he didnt want to pay the tax.
I snatched his arm off.

Now my boss has just picked up his Merc C200 (Think its the 2.2 Diesel 150ish BHP)
No leather, not the sports spec. No extras and a bit sparse inside so i win!

PS. No im not bothered by the badge! smile
