I'd be less worried about it making you look girlie, and more worried about it making you look like a .

Why don't you strap on a pair and buy the car you want rather than asking an Internet forum of strangers? I'm 36 and regularly drive my wife's MINI without caring what anyone thinks. Try it.

It's not the MINI bit that's a problem, it's the ryman bit.

Why on earth would you care about what people think?

For the record I saw a white Countryman S next to a Focus the other day and commented to my colleague how amusingly big and ugly it was.

But I'm a bloke sitting in a pub on my iPhone so why would you care? If JLR followed my fashion sense the Evoque designer would have been sacked after the concept so what do I know?!

Bankrupt but fast (if you have saved a bit for fuel) that is.
Seriously, if you like it buy it! How dull would the roads be if we all drove rep 2 litre tdi boxes. Variety is the spice and all that....

I would never own one personally. The inside looks like a caricature of a car interior and the exterior looks equally clown-like. The female estate agent we met yesterday was driving one to back up another post!

I reckon that taking into account the opinion of billy-no-mates-in-the-pub-on-iphone would be far worse than actually buying one biggrin

Well, Thanks to everyone for their opinions, they just confirm what I already knew really.
I'm Just looking for something to scratch an itch, trouble is I don't really know what the itch is, but i Think it may be mad bad V8 or V10 itch and not a pretty little car itch!

Exactly!

Oh, and look at the "Garages" of a lot of the posters that have commented here!

If you like it, go for it.

I have driven a BINI Cooper S, it was small, fun & nippy and I absolutely loved driving it. The faster I chucked it into a roundabout, the better it responded. If only all cars were so much fun. I would buy one if I could live with the lack of practicality. If the Countryman is as good to drive as its little brother, it must be worth considering.

Too many people, particularly in the UK, can't see the product beneath the badge, so they buy the brand, not the car.

Buy what YOU want. Who gives a toss what anyone else thinks?

I have had 2 mini coopers (both were company motors) and I didn't think they looked girlie. Calling it a BINI though makes you sound like a knob - just putting it out there!

A lot of insecure 'men' in this thread. Stop worrying about what other people think, you puffs. I wouldn't mind a MINI One myself.

They're fantastic little cars, tons of fun in the twisty stuff. My only criticism is they're a tad oversprung and the ride gets a bit crashy on the bumpier roads, but other than that they're heaps of fun, bloody quick for what they are, and stick like crap to a blanket. The Abarth 500s are worth a look too, they're much the same story, just smaller.

As for image, I've never thought of them as a girlie car, but then I never cared much for image, or what other people think.
