Is it not really sad to call it a BINI?
No it's hilarious. It's like a portmanteau of Mini and bin, suggesting the cars are rubbish.

Every time I read it I have a coffee/keyboard interface.

Honest.

They're fantastic little cars, tons of fun in the twisty stuff. My only criticism is they're a tad oversprung and the ride gets a bit crashy on the bumpier roads,

As for image, I've never thought of them as a girlie car, but then I never cared much for image, or what other people think.
I'd certainly agree on 17s and RFTs ( as many are ordered new )
On 15s or 16s with proper tyres they're a whole load improved thumbup

Pfft. Say what you like, the MINI is a cracking car to drive. I didn't believe all the hype of it being "like a go-kart" until I test drove one a few weeks back.

I now have a Cooper Hatchback on order.

I don't care what anyone else thinks.

Only used the BINI so people knew I was talking about the modern one and not the classic.

I can't believe the OP is going to decide on the potential of a car based on what a load of people say on a forum rolleyes

And not form your own opinion based on what it's actually like to drive, deals that could be struck, etc.

Just to add...

I work for a company that supplies a service to MINI (Well BMW actually)

We had an official Email from BM Management, that any mention of the said product, should always be in UPPERCASE...

I'm 28 and bought one.

I realised the error of my ways after about six months, but was tied into a monumentally stupid finance deal and have only just been able to get rid this month.

Questionable style over substance - don't do it.

I test drove one yesterday

coming from a classic mini (which I'll keep) It was worlds different to drive, but I loved it- apart from family, all my mates hate them. But to be honest, I don't really care what they say because I'm getting the car for me and not them

Plus, in black or grey and cooper S trim it does look good

As the title really, I find myself drawn to a mini countryman cooper s.
But as a 50 year old male i'm a bit worried about the image.
You said you fancy one but are worried about the image.

I don't like the looks of the countryman but then I've never bought cars on perceived image. I'd say 99% of the public couldn't give a toss if you drove around in a bright pink g-whizz. Buy the car you like, you have to live with it. Don't buy an RS6 just because you think people on PH will like it.

MINI? - Get One
Cooper S? - Definately Get One
Countryman? - ARE YOU fkING BLIND?! biggrin

As for if they are girly, why the fk would you even care as long as you like it, if you listened to what people on here say you'll end up in either a seriously unpractical sports car which doesn't meet your requirements at all, an MX5 or a fking Rep-mobile, standard recommendations on here to any what car.

If I was to get an RS6 it wouldn't be because of PH it would be because a lady took me for a blast across Yorkshire in this 8 years ago and I have never forgotten it!
