A tasteful private plate ???......a contradiction in terms if ever I heard one.

Had the pleasure of a current shape 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE for a weekend a few weeks back, so can give you my view on what is good about them: namely that few cars are as comfortable to cover long distance in. Ride and noise suppression are excellent, performance plentiful. I've travelled in S-class Mercs, BMW 7s - the RR really does compare favourably, plus you get excellent visability (forwards at least) and significant road presence. The latter being useful on a motorway crammed with trucks, vans etc.

Managed an indicated 30mpg over 350 miles, which wasn't too bad given the performance on offer - and the new one is likely to be better still.

So I can see the appeal...

Disagree - but ONLY for something like [three numbers three letters] that doesn't attempt to spell out a name/word/car type but disguises the car's age and adds a personal touch. For absolutely anything else, I'm with you.

No....not even 'only'. The benchmark in bad taste.

Fair enough. We all have our opinions - that being human nature.

442ft/lb from a 3 litre diesel v6 sounds mighty impressive to me. In fact, everything about this just seems "mighty"

i'll FIND the need for it's off-road capability, all of the sudden wanting to pull trailers through mud and picknicking in the middle of the Black Mountains... As with a seriously fast car, you actually don't NEED the power or cornering ability. So people go to track days and/or a fast blat down the highway. No one needs these overcompetitive cars, but will alwasy FIND the need ...hugely impressive machines the RR's. Basic TDV6 for me please. In green to match my wellies...

yikes

Certainly seems like a good update, mostly due to the weight loss, but I still don't personally see the appeal of this soft of vehicle unless you actually need the off-road capability.

No question this is the best 4x4 on the market bar none. Super capable, lightweight, super stylish and luxurious. World beater!

That looks lovely - and will look even better in a decent colour/leather combination.
