Did all the journo's / car sites all attend exactly the same driving event? Barely anything different to read between any other site review ..... Why can't some different be done / added to the reviews?
Yes, they did. They get given a car and a route to drive and then write their report based on that. John's done a good job here, as always. If you want something a little different read Steve Cropley's piece in next week's Autocar where he gets to drive one of the vehicles from Gaydon to the launch event in Marrakech.
FFRR are the ultimate 4x4's they are just wow, they are mean. They in my opinion outclass all their rivals. Q7's for me are a woman's car, the FFRR is a true gents are proper alphamales car!
I'd like one of these and the 2011 MY both 4.4TDV8's Please I prefer the looks of the MY11 this is just purely for the accomplishment!

The old one started at £70k. They aren't going to be able to make them fast enough. marmitemania said:

442ft/lb from a 3 litre diesel v6 sounds mighty impressive to me. In fact, everything about this just seems "mighty"
Is it that impressive?A simple £350 remap for my 3.0 V6 A6 will produce 415ft/lb so an extra 27ft/lb isn't exactly mind blowing, is it?
(I suppose the XJ might even be the same engine.)
So I agree that 442lb-ft does not sound necessarily awe-inspiring by comparison with other engines, though obviously 442 is greater than either 440 and 415, and even if it weren't, it would still be quite a lot.

I've never driven any RR product that didn't have a fault, even brand new press fleet cars, all had some significant niggle or other.
Its a Land Rover...They all tend to I'm sure this new RR will be no different. Thankfully green oval fans (myself included) are a dedicated bunch

Was my comment deleted because I linked to youtube?
Can't see a record of a deletion? We can see what has been removed and I can't spot one from you. Unless the vid was explicit, we wouldn't remove it.

This video by Shmee really gives an indication of how premium this car looks on the road. That bulbous/brutish rear end reminds me of the Phantom. It's safe to say the new Rangey can now credibly sit among both Rolls Royce and Bentley camps as a ultra premium vehicle.
However what is a shame is it seems to have lost some of its subtle utilitarian agricultural charm. Although you could argue that went a long, long time ago.

ooer!! Losing sales to Audi, cretinous peasants drive Audis, gentlemen drive Range Rovers.
notsureifseriousjoker.jpegThe days of Range Rover being the preserve of the gentleman are long gone. I'd say they're #1 on the bling bling hit list.

Lol at the "if i remapped my car it would almost be the same". Humans are bizarre.
I guess a lot will depend on spec as to how much - but I'm guessing with spec a base car will be comfortably north of £80k? Or do they actually come with a pretty useful spec sheet as standard?
I only ask as a friend picked up one of the last of the old breed with lots of stuff on for £65k or something which seemed a lot but now doesn't look so silly if the new one is in a new price bracket.

When the first pics came out, I was rather "anti" the stick on door vents.
Saw a met grey one going through Birmingham a couple of weeks ago, and I'll confess that I might have been wrong. Looked much better in the metal than the original pics (although I suspect it may be a model where the colour will have a significant bearing on things?).
Does anyone know if they legally tow the full 3.5t?
