I'm betting somebody on here has had a bump due to wet leaves on your left hand track?

Because of the recession the leaf collecting teams have been reduced to one man and a shovel.

Sadly this has led to autumn leaves falling onto floors all over the UK.

I'd read in the Wail that times were hard in Eastern Europe so Polish leaves were making their way here and lying on British roads so they could claim benefits.

I think we should be grateful for the extra leaves, it's not as if they grow on trees.

I blame the americans and their hurricane, theyve stolen all of the wind that normally blows the leaves off of the road at this time of year.

I think that we should retaliate by stealing all of canadas snow, thatll learn em.

Where I live about half the leaves on the trees were blown off in one hit last Friday night due to high wind all night long.

This has to be a contender for the most inane topic award.

I get the point of the original post. When I was driving driving to work last week there was a guy from the council with a leaf blower blowing leaves from the pavement into the road, rather than into the large expanse of trees & grass which was on the other side of him. It did go through my mind whether he had shares in an accident repair company.

The man with the leaf blower is soon followed by a large road sweeping machine in my experience, it means that they can clear the pavement and the road with the simple addition of one extra man...

There can't have been a road sweeper that close behind as I didn't pass it either before I passed the blower nor after it. Why not just blow them back under the trees they fell from, only needs one man then and no truck at all. Going o/t slightly why not get all those benefit scroungers out there picking the leaves up to earn their keep.

Weirdly, I drove onto the hill out of our estate this morning and there was ahuge swathe of wet leaves on the road that have never been there before. maybe it's the fact it's been so wet so they're sticking to the road rather than blowing away.

They're a real menace when you ride a motorbike, I live in a rural area and the local roads are very very slippery frown

I read this thread last night and haven't been able to sleep since.

This could possibly be one of the worst infringements of motorists' rights I've ever encountered.

I have scheduled a meeting with my local MP and am going to suggest that the UK embarks on a project to cut down every tree within 900 yards of a road. I'm taking this all the way. This government can not just sit there worrying about trivialities such as the economy while cars, motorcyclists and other misc road users are forced to back off ever so slightly on a few corners for a couple of days each year.

This country is going to hell in a handcart, I tells you.
